If you haven't gone dark already then you must not care that much about the ending and I have no sympathy for you if you are spoiled.

Your a very pleasant person. Seriously though, what about those of us who don't want to go dark? It's not fair to those of us who want new info without being spoiled because of some punk with a computer that thinks he's hilarious.

You're right, it's not fair. You shouldn't have to go dark just to protect yourself, but you will, if you care enough about the ending. This is not something Bungie is in control of, spoilers will always be posted, whether you receive them or not is completely up to you.

I know a few hardcore halo fans that have been dark now for a week, no forums of any kind.

You have to be willing to make some kind of sacrifice, Bungie can't wave their magical wand and make all the bad spoiler guys go away.

You still have a few weeks to go, if you don't want to be spoiled, then leave. Now. Otherwise I can almost guarantee you will read some kind of ending spoiler before release. I know I did, luckily I don't play my games for the ending.

You make some valid points, but just because BUNGIE can't automatically make bad people go away, that doesn't mean it would hurt to deter them. This would be like added protection on top of the report button. And I refuse to go dark. If I do, the bad men win.

There comes a time in every mans life... and that time is not now.

Spoiler:

Master Chief turns into an octopus.

Going dark is the best way to combat it. I've matured beyond the point of caring about spoilers. Life goes on.

No it doesn't. We've talked about this Lobby. Stop it.

Why hasn't this been locked by now? It's illegal to Counter leak. That should be /thread right there.

You kind of addressed this in the OP, but even if mods did "counter leak," then every time someone who wasn't a mod posted a leak, we'd pretty much know it was real; or it would have a significantly higher chance of being real instead of just a variation of a mods counter leak, like you suggested.

And conversely, you'd know that all the mods' leaks were tacitly fake.

Also: http://ucsdnews.ucsd.edu/newsrel/soc/2011_08spoilers.asp

Also, that's not a license to post spoilers.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I don't think that would work.

It's a suggestion for mods. Just an idea to rol around. I don't see why that deserves a lock.

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.

I doubt it would work.

and so it begins.......

I don't know why, but that made me laugh for a solid 5 minutes.

I do think the Internet police need to step up their game and start raiding the homes of all those jerks who spoiled Halo 4 for me. I didn't fight in WW1 just to have Halo 4 spoiled for me by some young whippersnapper. Get. It. Sorted!

Riot? Riot. I bet he's partially responsible for the leaks. His post sounded fairly sympathetic towards leakers. We don't know where he's been in his absence, if he's been turned. We must riot in protest. Everyone meet me at BUNGIE HQ in 5 minutes. Bring your own pitchforks. Torches will be supplied free of charge.

Why not have thread approval for all "normal members" (only when spoilers/leaks start or just before a new game)

Assuming heroic and above wouldn't want permas.

When the mods come on they can approve threads?

I know it is a bit unfair but is it a price worth paying to not see spoilers?

So, let me get this right. Rather than ignoring the pile of crap, you want to put fake crap in the pile of crap to dilute that actual amount of crap?

Why would that be preferable to just staying away from the crap in the first place?

Don't get into politics on the forums okay, they usually draw the attention of ass devestated trolls. And some will report you for flamebaiting.

I support this, we could also get rid of so many troll threads. But that would mean a lot more work for ninjas, I don't think they would like this.

Because staying away from the crap means staying away from here. I'm not to good at avoiding leaks. I'm addicted to this place.

In your terms:

Because staying away from the crap means staying away from the giant pile of candy. I'm not too good at avoiding the crap when I'm rooting through the candy. I have a sugar addiction.
