Any Forerunner enthusiasts out there?

After stumbling across this symbol and realizing it was undefined, I looked over the theories of it on the halo wiki but it's clear there's something missing.

Visually breaking the image into a background and a foreground lead me to see a phallic shape and inversely a V or a U, which could symbolize the female reproductive organ. These 2 shapes are reiterated with the independent symbols for the Didact and the Librarian:

(Symbols from the terminal conversation between Didact and the Librarian)

Didact - top
Librarian - bottom

Notice the Librarian glyph forming a V or U shape. The Librarian was a Lifeworker, specifically a Lifeshaper. She was also a female. The V/U symbolizing the uterus, or female genitalia, would make sense in that context.

The independent Didact symbol looks vaguely phallic, but what drew the eye of user Sheepe from Ascendant Justice was the horizontal line, he was theorizing about the various symbols in his post:

"The Didact is represented as being behind a wall (the horizontal line)" - Sheepe

http://blog.ascendantjustice.com/2008/05/09/terminal-visuals/

Maybe it symbolizes the defensive action the Didact wanted to take against the flood as opposed to the offensive Halo array, or even the Shield Worlds. Or is it that the Didact, in this conversation, is walled off from the Librarian?

If you defer back to the original undefined symbol, the phallic shape could also be 2 heads separated by a wall between them, or even a ravine/canyon (celestial space and the flood between the two).

Inversely, the two shapes forming the V/U can also be perceived as (left to right) masculine and feminine, connected at the pelvic region symbolizing their love and courtship.

The number 2 is also prevalent in this symbol, potentially symbolizing 2 entities. I realize looking for numbers can come off as insignificant, I bring it up because Bungie has shown interest in patterns. Take it or leave it.

That's the interpretation of the imagery going into this theory so far...

Where is the symbol found?

If you look at where the symbol is present, from my understanding, it correlates with what the Didact and the Librarian have influence over. As in; "A certain symbol exists that has appeared on virtually every Forerunner installation and on the cover of Halo: Ghosts of Onyx." (Halowiki). It also appeared on the cover of the Beastiarum, which displays various information in a scientifically cataloged manner on various species.

The wiki page goes into detail about where this symbol has been found. It appears to correlate with the book Primordium when you see Monitors baring the symbol as well.

TL;DR
The Undefined Symbol linked at the very top symbolizes both the Didact and the Librarian.

Any thoughts?

(To discuss Halo 4.)

I am fairly certain it suggests that whatever it is on is of Forerunner origin/design.

At first i thought i could handle the wall of text but after reading first 4 lines i quickly rushed to the tl;dr section.

Going back on topic, what difference can it make if its only didact or didact with librarian.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

It's the 'Shield and Sword' glyph, it appears in Ghosts of Onyx and Halsey translates it IIRC. It refers to the Halos and Shield Worlds, hence why the Monitors bear that glyph because they are the caretakers of the former.

I do not think it symbolises the Librarian and Didact.
