Someone tell Kivell that he is a lie.

He actually explained it in a weekly update or forum post a few years ago. If I remeber correctly, yorkies suggestion is the most correct.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I always thought it meant 'A'=without and 'chron'=time to mean something along the lines of "The Timeless One".
That makes better sense though.

It's the sound you hear when Penguin slaps Batman.

Bobcast: the only ninja to operate an ER out of his mom's basement

The prefix "A" means without or absence.

The word "Chronos" means time.

A literal translation would suggest his name means "without time" or an "absence of time."

However, I've been around long enough to see several of these threads. Achronos has responded in the past to simply say he choose his Bnet tag because he thought it sounded like a cool video game name.

Achronos always made me think of time because Chronos means time in Greek.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Damn OP was that google search mega hard?

Honestly? It mostly sounds like the Greek word that means "Without time" or "Out of time" in a sense.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

The name wasn't picked for bungie.net, it was picked as a character name in Ultima Online when my prior choice (Antares) for online games was taken. I've used it ever since as my online handle for pretty much everything.

I created it by taking the word Chronos and adding a letter onto it. It wasn't picked to have the meaning of anything. However, if you must have some kind of defintion, bobcast is essentially correct - "timeless" is probably the best approximation to a English word.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Achronos is a way better choice than Antares IMO.

I don't think the "I" fad was around when Bungie.net was made.

How would you pronounce that? A good online handle can be spoken easily as well as be reasonably easy to spell.
