Subject: I just discovered the meaning of Achronos' name!

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

How would you pronounce that? A good online handle can be spoken easily as well as be reasonably easy to spell.

xChronos sounds way cooler.

The x is silent?

"Ex- Chronos"? Sounds pretty badass to me. Then again, you can probably tell that I'm not very good at picking usernames..

wasn't Achronos the name of the ships computer in "Pitch Black"
and if that is so and we are in the so called "Dark", how many passangers will survive the crash... who's piloting this ship ? i like her already ;)

i could be wrong;
and isn't discussing individual members not allowed ?

I created it by taking the word Chronos and adding a letter onto it.
You should have gone with Qo'noS instead.

The name wasn't picked for bungie.net, it was picked as a character name in Ultima Online when my prior choice (Antares) for online games was taken. I've used it ever since as my online handle for pretty much everything.

I created it by taking the word Chronos and adding a letter onto it. It wasn't picked to have the meaning of anything. However, if you must have some kind of defintion, bobcast is essentially correct - "timeless" is probably the best approximation to a English word.

I actually had no idea what is name meant.....

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

It's not that I'm crazy... It's just that, you're not as far out there as I am.

I feel really dumb guys, but I read the word wrong.

It was archon, not achron.

Achronos makes more sense as "timeless one."

Sorry guys. I felt so accomplished and I jumped the gun.

Sorry :/

If chronos meant Shotgun Whore then I believe we'd have had this figured out a long time ago. A-Shotgun-Whore.

His explanation in this thread will suffice.

I missed this by five days, but I don't care. I'm seizing this stale opportunity.

You seem like a man much like myself, in that you choose a handle that is cross-platform and game. I do the same thing, I think you could understand the clinging feeling to that.

That said, I'd politely request you change my B.net handle to my Gamertag. Something, I didn't ask for even years ago when you did it for a few good community members.

We've had our good times, Achronos. You were the only person that ever had to blacklist me. My first and only.

It's Greek, not Latin. The Latin is tempus; the Greek, chronos.
