Sorry If this has been posted a thousand times, but ...
Doesn't it seem kind of silly to have a sign out there saying there's Grunts? Why would you put a warning for the weakest of the fighters in the Covenant?
Maybe the Grunts have become stronger (man I sound stupid now) and are special or something? Maybe they are super beings when something is activated... or maybe not.
I just don't understand why they would put a Grunt on a sign. You may say "oohh it's just an Easter Egg, don't worry about it!" but why would they put in an easter egg so obvious that can question the stability of the game?
In the OXM magazine they ask basically "What's this? A Grunt Crossing sign? A Warning: Grunts sign? Or is it a Easter egg? Or is it something more?"
Bungie's answer was (with a wink) : "The New Mombasa City Works department is one of the most efficient and speedy on Earth. The idea that they would produce appropriate traffic signage, even during an alien invasion, is not outside the bounds of reason."
If the NMCW is the most efficient, then the NMCW wouldn't waste time warning people DURING WARTIME about the weakest of the kind of enemy in a desert! I think something significant happened to the grunts, or maybe they ARE the forerunners! *gasp*
I don't know, maybe Bungie (with a wink) meant that it WAS an easter egg, and that was their excuse (since Bungie's always right)
Any thoughts???
Edit: Or maybe the sign meant that the area was a "Grunt Preservation Zone"
