Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.
The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Halo 3, they should just keep it at that.
Halo 3 is one of the most inconclusive 'conclusions' in the history of video games... The sheer number of plot points left hanging and got introduced in the last mission didn't just make Halo 4 inevitable, it was almost like it was planned.Of course it was planned, Microsoft just wanted to keep their most succeful series continued. And that's maybe the problem, Microsoft will milk every penny out of the Halo series, ultimately even ending up destroying the core of what has been Halo.
Also what plot points do you mean beside the legendary ending? Without the legendary ending the story could have been ended without any trouble. There are tons of threads that would still remain untied even if there wasn't a Legendary ending.
The question is only if they need to be tied? Personally I feel that the unresolved questions were left in a cozy state of ambiguity, that even though I would like some of them to be solved, I feel that an entire new trilogy would do more harm than good (why not just one game?), especially at a new studio. On top of that; there really weren't more than just a couple ways the mysteries could be resolved, so I never felt unsatisfied. If they there were to be tied however, it should be done through the Forerunner trilogy, and not a new set of games.
On topic:Chief should recede with the flood. Gandalf style.
