Two words:
Dream sequence.
It fits, doesn't it?
From what I've learned about Bungie in the short time I've known them, they're all about layers.
Think about it, when Halo 3 comes out, you get to the level where this cutscene starts playing immediately after the loading screen, then you get to the end, it starts to fade out, and...
"Sorry for the quick thaw, Master Chief."
This would explain all the mash-ups in the video, the Assault Rifle-looking gun and the Mark VI type-armor with the fancy new gloves, the Covenent ships that don't seem to care about 117, and even the Grunt Crossing sign.
When I dream, crazy stuff like that happens all the time.
Is this plausible?
What? Dream sequence? What are you guys talking about? Wait...Are you saying that the MC is dreaming or something? Someone clarify...I gotta get the Halo books for more reference. Mark VI? Fancy gloves? I can't tell the difference. I must be stupid or something. How did the MC dream about his Mark VI armor when he's frozen? "Sorry for the quick thaw, Master Chief." How did that pop out? Someone help me out here. But really, what does dream sequence mean?
