I was playing the Arbiter level on H2, the one where you have to lower the containment shield and all that -blam!-, about halfway through the level you walk through a room with an orange glow to it. You then turn right--and see boxes. Lots of boxes. Human boxes. Guess what is in these boxes? Food. Warthog parts. Various other things. Now how long had the humans been on the halo? More specifically, how long had they been inside the quarantine zone? Miranda and Johnson were planning to get-in-and-get-out and not spend much time. So why would they need food? This suggests that the boxes had been there for some time. Also, there were a couple of dead marines. Guess what? The commander and Johnson flew to the library (That Old, Familiar Feeling), they didn't walk, ergo, no dead marines in this part of the level. Odd? I think so. Also, at the beginning of the level, you encounter Human flood. Infected marines. Why would marines be there if Miranda and Johnson flew to the Index? The marines had to get there somehow. My guess is that Delta Halo had been discovered by the humans. By whom, i have no idea. But someone found it and explored it and brought marines with him/her. Why? I dunno.

Now it's time for the theorizing part:

Could this have something to do with Dr. Halsey's "Secret Mission"? I mean, no details were provided, and yes, the books were made to enhance the game, yada yada yada, but still, one has to wonder.

Now, i don't know if any of this has been said/discovered/theorized/talked about or whatever. I just noticed this and wanted to tell someone.

If someone has answers or a theory, please post it, as i want to know.

Yea this has been noticed before. It was put in a theory that Col. Ackerson had discovered the halos in advance and that had been his troops long term food and stuff that they left behind. IF you noticed, there are also ODST pods that are on halo before you get there.

He was trying to find immortality through the flood, sorta like the forerunners probably were. HE was also using clone spartans and other stuff

Its all in some theory thread by opogjijijp

Well, its not impossible, but I doubt they'd scramble everything and confuse everyone by bringing Halsey in there. Plus, even though Miranda planned to get in and get out and whatnot, you still have to be prepared for the worst situations. I'll give you an example. When Hitler invaded Russia in WWII, he had planned to take over the entire country before summer even ended. But he didn't. When winter came, thousands of his troops froze to death in 40 below temperatures. He lost. It would be stupid to "plan to be" on Halo for a short time, then get stranded and starve to death.

There is a widely accepted theory that the boxes found on that level were pointing out a secret plot by Colonel Ackerson (from the Halo novels), who is conspiring against Dr. Hasley and her Spartans in order to gain attention from ONI. Basically the theory is that Ackerson is planning on creating his own supersoldiers by using confiscated DNA samples from the Spartan program and cloning them, then to capture samples of the Flood (hence the mysterious marine presence that was indicated to have been their before Miranda Keyes came to Delta Halo) and fuse them into his cloned spartans, making invincivle uber-soldiers with the ability to regenerate wounds and survive massive amounts of physical damage. It is believed that the Marine equipment was what remained of Ackerson's marines after he sent them to capture Flood specimens, apparently unsuccessfully.

Yeah, ive read the books. But not to recently.

OK the ackerson thing makes sense...definetly plausible.

Miranda might not have known, but Ackerson was on a different level of authority and had access to tons of stuff that Keyes didn't I'm sure... This is a very interesting theory, as it is quite plausible.

...and yes... I've read the books, all of them.

Everyone says that the books have no relation to the games, but have you checked the manual for Halo 2? There is a page in there telling you to read the books for further info.

Yeah, ackerson was pretty high up. But didn't cortana reassign him to the front lines when she messed with his personal data pad?

The books were written to enhance the games. They provide background information, history, and a general kick-assusness. The books have a lot to do with the games, but the games don't necissarily have a lot to do with the books.

The pods were just pre-loaded graphics as you can see by the random doors on the ground.

Not Spartans, Ackerson hates Dr. Hasley for that project. Maybe Gravemind tricked him into thinking the Flood were a good idea.

I don't think Ackerson is cloning Spartans on Halo.

First, Ackerson hates Spartans and I don't believe that he would go as far as Cloning them.

Second, the Covenant found they like Humans food better and stole a bunch. Who could resist eating cheetos, and beef jerky?

Real Second, a lot of the arguement is that the Chiron level in Halo CE's description is Spartan Cloning Center or something like that. But when have the Spartans been cloned? When they were flash cloned at age 6, and the flash clones were sent to their parents. This, I believe, is the purpose Chiron had.

Third, cloning a Spartan would just give you a Human with exceptional skills. They wouldn't keep their augmentation. So it's practically pointless.

that also makes sense. If Ackerson wasn't cloning spartans on the Halo, what was he doing there? Or was he even there at all?

Go in the tread of interrest and find the one called clone and lies almost the same theory just more detailled.

chiron was training center for the spartans

and one of the spartans in the books trained outside of that station for space missions

I find it difficult to believe that they whould throw someone from the books in there and not have said anything about it.

Also what are they going to do in halo3? have a pause in the cut seen to show people what they missed and what details are now going to be revealed? I don't think so b/c it would look like this:

Look! the covenent found the ark! and look spartens are already killing them! What? thats not Master Cheif?! Who is it? *pause* remember in halo2 where there were some boxes and marines? well heres a clip. Now those were with these spartens. *Shows a clip of them fighting* They were cloned here *shows room*

Kinda lame huh? thats not going to happen the marine flood could have come from any part of halo they can fly with ships remember! And random food boxes are there for detail. I am sorry to tell you that not EVERY thing on Halo and Halo2 has a purpose! *WOW* I never new! *gasp* wait till I tell my freinds. I never new.

There may not be a reasonable explanation but
I doubt that it has to do with caracters NEVER mentioned in the game!

Also the other pods are form ODST that have already landed giving a sense that others from your ship have already been down and also they don't all land next to each other you know.
