It was once said that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could reproduce the works of shakespeare... Now thanks to the internet we know that this is not true

So I was playing halo reach the other day. And I noticed an interesting poster on the wall of a building.

It was orange, and it showed one large sphere with 2 smaller spheres "orbiting" it. Or at least that's what it looked like. It instantly reminded me of the Dead Orbit logo.

But the interesting thing was at the very bottom of this poster. There were a bunch of "ships" ( they were triangles pointed upwards with a tiny square in the back )

these "ships" were pointed straight at the spheres. Which leads me to believe that there is some sort of invasion.

I couldn't find the actual image on the web So i recreated it in photoshop

its a very simple image to how you see it in the recreation is pretty much exactly how it was in game.

thoughts?

Actual in game picture

I missed the way the "ships" were stacked in the real picture, making it look even more like a fleet of incoming ships

That's a pretty sweet find, why don't you take a picture of it and link us to waypoint *shudders*.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

#1 Legendary ODST Firefight Highscore

[UNINTELLIGIBLE > INSUBORDINATION(?)]

I've searched through a few of the Reach maps, and noticed several of these symbols and secrets. Particularly in powerhouse. It's actually sort of creepy, how they have all that in there...

Quick phone picture, but you get the idea

there is also that picture on the left with a bunch of little people on it. one of the people is red. it seems quite random and must be there for a reason.

in addition both of those posters have the same cube logo on them.

dang it. I just did some more research. the planet reach has 2 moons. and it was also invaded. so chances are this is just a picture of reach. But why would they put that there? we already know that reach will get taken by the covenant.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.--Teddy Roosevelt

If the posters are about the invasion of Reach (hopefully not), then I am willing to bet the one on the left has to do with the survival rate. Perhaps 1 in 36 of people survived Reach? Obviously, that doesn't make much sense time-wise, but it would still be cool.

  • 10.23.2012 4:34 AM PDT

It could have been a reference, although it's not as obvious as the ODST poster.

I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

It can be creepy with all the hidden stuff Bungie puts in their games.

Good find, OP.

I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

It's obvious.

Big circle - Sun
medium circle - Earth
small circle - moon

The ships invade Earth killing everybody making it "dead" and it orbits the sun hence the name "dead orbit".

Those things in the bottom looks more like pine trees than ships.

Still I like the idea of having space fleets on Destiny.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

'Looks like four 3-ship squadrons flying towards a planet with 2 moons.

Or 12 pine trees under a sky consisting of 3 planets/moons.

The ship represent the crusader, exploring the planet just like the movie "Prometheus".

Tag 'm and Bag 'm

That would be verry cool indeed. Maybe if the ship battles are prominent you have the abillity to choose/upgrade/build your own ship.

Perpetual Ninja in training.

Los Paranoias

It's obviously an elaborate allusion to Jack and The Bean Stalk, with the picture on the left being a sly allusion to how many people at Bungie are NOT nerds (1 out of 36).

All of the evidence shows that these are a poster about the invasion of reach, But why would bungie put these in? its not like we don't know what happened to reach
