SB-117

With Halo 4 around the corner, I figured I'd make a thread with all the Loadout options so people can quickly see what kind of loadout they want to work toward on launch. I'm sure similar threads have been posted here or on other sites but I personally haven't seen one (haven't looked much though) so here's another.

Discussion wise, let me know what Loadout(s) you think you'll be trying to unlock this November. Or maybe if you think you have any cool ideas for Support and Tactical packages, feel free to post them. For instance, I would have a perk that made me invisible to radar, but it would also disable my own radar (for those who enjoy Pro-variant game types that typically have no radar).

* Asterisk denotes end-game class perks I believe.

PRIMARY WEAPON

Assault Rifle (UNSC)
Standard fully automatic firearm of all UNSC branches, effective in both close-range and mid-range combat.

Storm Rifle (Covenant)
Fully automatic energy weapon widely considered the successor to the traditional Plasma Rifle.

Suppressor (Promethean)
Fully automatic Forerunner infantry weapon, firing bolts of hard light in rapidly accelerating succession.

Battle Rifle (UNSC)
Utilises precise, three-round burst functionality, making it a formidable mid-range, semi-automatic weapon.

DMR (UNSC)
Premiere marksman rifle of the UNSC, offering impressive single-fire accuracy at resonably long distances.

Covenant Carbine (Covenant)
Notable semi-automatic mid-range accuracy, firing ballistic rounds unlike most other Covenant weapons.

Light Rifle (Promethean)
Precision weapon that fires beams of hard light for mid-range to long-range combat.

SECONDARY WEAPON

Magnum (UNSC)
UNSC's personal sidearm of choice due to its excellence at close-range to mid-range engagements.

Plasma Pistol (Covenant)
Directed energy weapon capable of a scaled-burst effect which disables electronics.

Boltshot (Promethean)
Forerunner particle dilator used for both its precision at mid-range and its burst functionality when up close.

GRENADE

Frag Grenade (UNSC)
The Fragmentation Grenade, which has existed relatively unchanged for centuries, is used to efficiently clear any dug-in enemies.

Plasma Grenade (Covenant)
The Plasma Grenade, when triggered, is engulfed in latent plasma, allowing it to cling to targets before detonating.

Pulse Grenade (Promethean)
The Pulse Grenade forcefully detonates and forms a hazardous ionisation sphere which eventually collapses, destroying any nearby targets.

ARMOUR ABILITY

Promethean Vision
Allows users to detect enemy signatures through walls and other hard surfaces.

Thruster Pack
Enables a powerful burst of movement offering the ability to evade or quickly close the gap.

Hologram
Allows users to generate a nearly identical holographic decoy to deceive enemies during combat.

Jet Pack
Allows users limited flight through a vertical lift propulsion system similar to that of EVA reentry packs.

Hardlight Shield
Allows users to generate a protective barrier of hard light which stops most small arms fire and some explosives.

Active Camouflage
Allows users to generate a visual effect astonishingly close to invisibility.

Autosentry
An automated turret which can be deployed to defend its user or command a key battlefield chokepoint.

Regeneration Field
Allows users to release a short-range energy field that heals any nearby Spartans.

TACTICAL PACKAGE

Mobility
Mobility allows unlimited sprint.

Shielding
Shielding speeds up your armour's energy shield recharge rate.

Resupply
Resupply allows the recovery of grenades from fallen allies and foes.

AA Effiiciency
AA Efficiency increases the rate at which energy recharges for Armour Abilities.

Grenadier
Grenadier increases grenade carrying capacity.

Firepower
Firepower allows the use of a primary weapon in the secondary weapon slot.

Fast Track *
Fast Track allows user to advance quicker in rank.

Requisition *
In modes with personal ordnance, Requisition lets the player request new choices when an ordnance is granted.

Wheelman *
Wheelman increases the long term durability of your vechicle as well as how it reacts to EMP charges.

SUPPORT UPGRADE

Dexterity
Dexterity speeds up reloads and weapon swapping,

Ammo
Ammo increases the ammunition capacity for both starting weapons and ordnance drops.

Sensor
Sensor increases motion sensor range.

Awareness
Awareness allows the use of motion sensors while using a scope.

Explosives
Explosives alters grenade performance, increasing blast radius and decreasing grenade damage received.

Ordnance Priority
In modes with personal ordnance, Ordnance Priority offers more frequent ordnance drops to user.

Stability
Stability steadies your weapon while being struck by incoming fire.

Gunner *
Gunner increases how long a mounted weapon can fire before overheating as well as movement speed with detached turrets.

Stealth *
Stealth dampens your footsteps, makes you harder to see on Promethean Vision, and increases your assassination speed.

Nemesis *
Nemesis marks enemy responsible for your last death.

Drop Recon *
Drop Recon calls out ordnance drops in advance.

To someone who hasn't followed H4 closely, this is pretty useful, thanks.

Yeah. I think there's going to be a Slayer Pro playlist (with No Radar, DMR/BR/AR spawns with no Ordnance). And maybe a classic playlist. I'm not sure.

We'll see in a couple of weeks :). Thanks for this thread.

I change shapes just to hide in this place but im still im still an animal...

Nemesis seems pointless, there was a similar deathstreak on COD, cant people distinguish between players with pimped out guns and armour?

  • 10.23.2012 4:47 AM PDT

BR
Mini Shotgun
Armour Lock v.2.0
Easy XP
Slight of Hand Pro.

  • 10.23.2012 4:47 AM PDT

I'm gonna go

Light Rifle
AR/Storm Rifle (depending on which I prefer more)
Plasma Grenades
Thruster Pack
Firepower
Ordnance Priority

The Snow Leopard's wisdom includes: Understanding one's shadow-side; trusting one's inner-self; agility; strength; the ability to stalk; understanding the power of silence.

Nothing seems too game-changing on paper... Hopefully this will be the case in game-play.

Can't wait to use infinite sprint with "enhanced" stealth.

I never thought I would see the day where the Assault Rifle in Halo would actually be useful again.

Seeing how I think I'm more of a long-range support player...

BR or DMR
Plasma Pistol
Frag or Plasma (Frags bounce better but Plasmas are just more fun)
Promethean Vision
AA Efficiency
Awareness

...looks like a good combo. See where everyone is, point it out to team mates and try to get plenty of shots off for my team to clean up. Boltshot looks tempting as a secondary but if it's anything like Reach, the PP is basically like a mini-shotgun. Just spam a few bolts and go for the beatdown.

Nice Op, Ash. Very informative.

But man... this makes me feel like I'm ready the perks list from a CoD game... I think I might just stick to the classic playlist.

Hoenstly I don't think I'll be able to choose a loadout until I try them out for myself.
But I do like the idea of infinite sprint with stealth.

As for my load out, I'll probably go:

DMR
Plasma Pistol
Plasma Grenade (actually undecided, I could end up going with Frags)
Thruster Pack

And I don't know about the perks yet.

I doubt you'll be able to sprint while in stealth. Movement uncloaks you I believe.

I think I'll use the Assault Rifle, Magnum, Frags, Thruster Pack, Mobility, and Stealth.

I'm not sure what I'll use until I unlock Stealth, though.

Well, with Stealth it says I'll be harder to see and be able to assassinate faster.
And with mobility, I'll be able to have infinite sprint.
Play right, and you can be a sneaky killing machine.

Harder to see on Promethean Vision. And who wants to assassinate faster? Assassinations are optional and all about the style, you want it to last as long as possible.

The footstep dampening part sounds kind of useful, but Halo 4's so noisy compared to the other games that I doubt it'll matter too much.

HEY ASH, just thought you'd like to know - the Moderators over on the Halo Waypoint forums have had a FREE copy of Halo 4 now, for over a week. Remember when Jess said that all Bnet mods were 'more than welcome' to come help out on 343's forums back when they went up? Well, I bet you're kicking yourself for NOT LISTENING TO US NOW EH?!

It's been 1-2-many times that I'll be playing halo, and I doing this assassination, and I get killed while in the process.

I'm pretty sure than the Steath perk will make it so walking will be as stealthy as crouch-walking is normally (regardless of how fast you're moving), but sprinting and firing your weapon will still reveal you on the motion-tracker. I also believe that your footsteps will be nearly silent, and that you will be a much lighter shade of red (or whatever blends in better) when seen in Promethean Vision.
