What would everyone like to happen at the end of halo 4? If I'm honest I was disappointed that reach didn't have a warthog run like halo 1 or 3

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

I don't care how it ends, just as long as the plot which it resolves isn't made up just to spawn a new game.

As much as I like the Warthog run in CE and 3, or anything similar; the concept of adding a sequence that stands out from the rest of the game, even though its gameplay mechanics are the same as the rest, the actual standard gameplay part of the level has to be able to stand on its own. Something that wasn't the case in Halo in 3; it was far too short, and simple/straight forward, which made it feel a bit lackluster. It wasn't challenging enough either. It felt like Bungie thought that the Warthog run would compensate for the rest of it.
So if Halo 4 has a boss battle (like Tartarus) or a Warthog runesque sequence, or whatever, I hope the standard gameplay is strong enough to carry it, that it won't feel like 343i saved everything for the end sequence; believed that it would carry the entire level, instead of fleshing out the actual standard gameplay sequence. If you get what I mean?

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

I'd like to see a flight sequence. Maybe fly a Pelican full of survivors, or a Longsword. Aerial dogfights along the way. Think the space battle of Reach but you're progressing to an end point flying around/through exploding ships, etc.

Pelican run the natural evolution of the Warthog run.

I think this too, in a way. I mean, if the Didact does end up being the final antagonist... he's massive. I don't want something like the Gravemind where we only see him in cutscenes. I want to fight him, and kick his arse.

For that, we'll need a boss battle. But it'll have to be done a lot better than the Tartarus one. I haven't played an FPS game yet that's done a boss battle well, though.

Maybe it's better if it's left out.

The last boss battle I experienced in a FPS, was the one in Syndicate. That was horrible. Every time the boss went down one had to run to him and initiate a quick time event. Stale. So yeah, it's not often done right.

Any examples of what you would like/dislike to see in a said boss battle?

Do you know what it's time for? A sexy party!

Rather than escaping on the Warthog sequence, how about escaping on the Mantis this time around.(New way to get mad in Halo 4 multiplayer lol)

Well, seeing as it is the start of a trilogy...

We should know better, because we are better.

I just hope it doesn't end in a quick time event. Pressing X repeatedly to win is not fun. An arena style fight (think Tartarus) would be a good end.
