The marines in the very same level didn't.
The marines don't have energy shielding. Hence why they were the first to get infected.
Exactly, but not by spores. They all got hit by Infection Forms, but the spores didn't seem to harm them at all.
It could certainly get through marine and brute armor. It's safe to assume it could get through a boot.
Again, Infection Forms. Not to mention in High Charity there were armorless Brutes lying around that weren't infected, at least until Infection Forms showed up.
I'm aware of how the flood works.
Your last post tells me otherwise.
Parasitic species are a generic concept. I'm talking about the spores - yes, an Infection Form can get through armor, and yes, they were the reason the marines near the crashed ship were infected. The spores, on the other hand, don't appear to be as infectious as they're made out to be, seeing as how any regular human or jiralhanae can inhale loads of them at a time and not be bothered in the least.
