I always tried to save every single marine for some stupid reason... ofcours it never actually worked out.

Mostly felt sad in halo 2, poor marines dieing from flood..

Me as well friend, it is quite the challenge in Reach and ODST...(proudest moment of my halo career was saving 3/4 of the marines on floodgate on heroic.

The death of Humanity.

What came out of the Human-Covenant war isn't something to be proud of.

I feel as if 343i is taking that vulnerabilty away and replacing it with superiority. Human's are no longer desperate to claw for survival. But now they facillitate wars for self-gain.

Maybe the Forerunners can bring them back down. But it just doesn't feel the same.

True but we have many Halo stories to come. Constant heart break isn't good for us to endure. A little heroism will give us that spark we felt in the beginning of Halo 3.

Grunt Beats Everthing

I have to say Carter, his death was epic and sad. He was one of best characters in Halo universe.

I would say, but it's a spoiler, and I'm in no mood to get perma-banned.

Threat of a ban shouldn't be what's detracting you from posting a spoiler. It should be that you don't want to be a wanker and ruin it for other people.

Saddest moment was when my Xbox froze just a second before I completed the final mission on Legendary in CE.

In Halo 2 on Gravemind, when the track High Charity begins to play. You see Grunts not even bothering to fight you but instead running around aimlessly screaming. Then berserking Brutes come in and kill the Grunts. It really showed the inner turmoil of the Covenant. Even though the Covenant are the enemy, it was a sad sight seeing the weakest rank giving up and having the Brutes slaughter them. Combining that with O'Donnell's track was truly disheartening.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Saddest thing in Halo is that it took over 10 years in order for the additional canonical sources to have resonant effects with the story of the games.

If good looks could kill, I'd be a weapon of mass destruction.

Q: Hey, what did Hitler say to the black jew?
A: Get to the back of the oven.

Captain Keyes, and Miranda Keyes. I give bungie credit for having the balls to kill them off. It was pretty heartfelt.

But Johnson? Man...Halo just won't be the same without him.

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

Hmmm, must have been to go to sleep, only to wake up in a new dimension where everything looks different and everyone you know--and don't know--don't behave as they used to... Sound like a nightmare, right?

OT: I was actually a bit sad when Thel killed Sesa 'Refumee. Just knowing that he in fact was one of the good guys (or probably would have been), made it a bit uneasy for me to kill him.

The saddest part in the series was definitely Sam's death in TFoR. Sam was like the MC's best friend at the time and they were all so broken up about literally abandoning him on the ship. I always thought the novels depicted a lot more emotion than the games, even though O'Donnell's accompaniments were spectacular.

For me the saddest scene was just after Kat died in Halo Reach. Not because I was especially fond of Kat, but just because the scene was beautifully done. Perfect music, no dialog. There's this long pause in the cutscene and then a wide shot where you see just how badly the Covenant are burning down Reach. If you turn on subtitles you can hear a few civilians pleading for their lives at this point. The whole thing is one of my favorite moments in any video game.

I totally agree. It just shows how unpredictable war can be. One second you're relatively safe and the next moment you get a needle round straight through your brain.

Be nice to noobs..Remember even MLG players were noobs at one point.

The saddest for me was a one Private Wallace A. Jenkins. It was our first look at the transformation into the flood. The fact that he was able to partially control it as long as he did serves as a testament to how strong of a character he was. For those of you who haven't read the books, he is the one that really saved earth from the flood, he destroyed the Truth and Reconciliation. The ship had a cargo of both human passengers and flood specimen to "study."

when reach team died orrrrrrrrrr all of the aliens trying to give the soldiers a kiss

  • 11.05.2012 2:04 AM PDT

probably in Halo: Reach.
after you storm up the buildings in Alexandria, you come to the near-end where you finished off a Chieftan and two turrets and have two Falcons land to pick you up.
that air trip over the war-torn city, seeing all the civilians you could have helped but couldn't... that packaged the entire game in like 30 seconds.
i was like: "crap, man. that's just sad."

I take it all back, the saddest thing in Halo is the recent death of Cortana in Halo 4. :( I cried like a babykins.

  • 11.09.2012 1:01 AM PDT

Per Audacia Ad Astra!

I still don't have put my hand on H4, so to me it's obviously, "our" death as Noble 6. the saddest and best cinematic of the whole game, that was hard and paingull to see "you" dying in that way, the scene was terrific and dramatic...

The terminal for Halo CEA, The Death of Keyes

I love that terminal!

Keyes: You'll never have me!
Gravemind: We already do...

  • 11.09.2012 3:26 AM PDT

Skuldier? Never heard of him...

Yeah that Terminal got to me. It did a great job of adding on to that level.

I had to watch it several times. -blam!- made me sniffle.

Finished Halo 4 and nothing compares to Cortana's death. When Laskey says they're humans, not machines, John realises that it took a 'machine' to make him understand that there's really no difference - life is life, organic or artificial. That's what Cortana meant when she said 'figure out which of us is the machine' - that neither of them really are. A soldier can seem just as mechanical as an A.I, but when the battle's over, that all falls away and humanity's all that's left.

Cortana's death is tragic, but the silver lining is that for the first time it makes John realise how truly human he is, represented thematically at the end by the removal of his armour and thus, the exposing of that humanity to the world.

In a time where the Forerunners threaten to destroy humanity, realising that's what you are is going to be more important than ever. A reason to fight, and a reason to live.

Pity Humanity in Halo isn't something worth fighting for. Well, at least that's what I would think when deciding whether or not I want to risk my life for it.
