This is just opinion but if chief who is far less technologically far less superior to the forerunners could stop flood. Why didnt the forerunners just make a forerunner spartan version or just jump into a dyson sphere adn activate halos? Sounds weird that humans are the only who thought of biologically upgrading their own species and giving them the best weapon and armor but the other races didnt. If im wrong just tell me no hates please.

I am alpha, i am omega.

I am the last of the primes.

The flood had reached to a point of no return, and the forerunners empire had collapsed.

Not even chief could have stopped them.

Forerunners were naturally superior to the Chief in every way, and only further augmented that through multiple mutations.

The problem arises when you realize the Flood assimilate all of your technology, knowledge and traits into their own, so it wasn't a matter of superior might, but rather trying to fight simple inevitability that you will succumb. There is no beating the Flood once it starts spreading.

I think with my inferior human brain that the forerunners could send like a few of their race into a dyson sphere to reproduce. while they activate the halo rings so their race survives and flood goes bye bye or at least for a while. corect me if im wrong again.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

There's no use in all that tech when the enemy effectively decapitates your government by setting off a huge WMD on your capital world (or in this case, where all the important Forerunner figures were).

Not to mention, the Flood in the trilogy is but one minor outbreak, a couple million Covenant troopers absorbed? pffft, the first planet taken by the Flood against the Forerunners had around 20 billion civilians alone, now extrapolate that to 3 million worlds.

Who says they didn't?

if they did that is one over populated dyson sphere or spheres because there should be billions of them if they did survive(measure with human reproduction and life span)

Chief didn't stop them.

He merely delayed their plans. The Gravemind will return.
Chief just got rid of a local infestation, and this is before the point where the entire galaxy was in peril. At the time of Chief activating Installtion 04B, they COULD have infected the entire galaxy. When the Forerunners lost the war, the Flood DID infect a lot of the galaxy.

Didn't think about that... they could prolly have infected other galaxies.
