In the latest Halo 4 Forerunner trailer you see when that enemy (forget it's name) open up to reveal a skull with a blue light (aura?) surrounding it, and yet in the previous trailers we have seen them with an orange light (aura?) surrounding it.

So my question is: is there some kind of conflict going on between good and evil here with the same species or is it just a certain rank of some sort? Blue is more superior to orange?

Reach for Halo!

I want to say they gave an explanation for this at some point. I'll look for it, but I believe its just different styles. Ill try to find the official reason.

Online Gaming's pretty much like a zombie movie. There are a lot of mindless idiots roaming around but you find some survivors on the way.

If you're interested in vs threads, here's a sweet little group for you to join

It's probably to add diversity to the enemies gameplay wise, but canonically speaking we do not yet know.

If I ever get AIDS, I'm going to sleep with another AIDS person so my AIDS cancel each other out, or I'm going to make the AIDS I already have worse.

I think 343i said there's a reason for this and they change after something happens in the campaign, either that or it's a day/night cycle thing.

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

Maybe it's like how the blue Sentinels in Halo 2 were higher in rank or whatever to the orange ones.

Or maybe it's just a retcon.

...I think I know how this happens then. But, it's a spoiler, so I can't really say it here.
