I feel like everyone had a group of Halo 2 friends, whether online, or IRL, or both. My story is a little weird, so I wanted to share and hear other peoples stories...

I started off playing H2 with my best friend and my older brother, they were the only ones I knew that played. Then one day in matchmaking, we played a 3v3 game, and it was REAL close. Afterwards both teams were talking trash and we wanted a rematch. So we went to a custom game to play again.

In the lobby we were doing the immature crap talking and where we lived got brought up, and down to our high school even. It turns out these three guys went to my high school and were JR high acquaintances of mine, one was a kindergarten friend of mine.

After adding each other as friends we began playing together all the time. Soon after it was LAN parties, and eventually tournaments. I still get together with these friends on a regular basis to play halo or just hand out.

All because of a random matchmaking game I ended up with some of my best friends through high school.

Sounds pretty awesome :)

I don't have a story like that, but i still remember a few names by having a laugh on assault on relic (i think, or ctf xD) and just flat out rushing the darn thing. People had fun and we used to play a few matches here and there. I don't really play with any of them now, people moved on and i don't have the time for games anymore sadly. I do remember alot of them moving to Gears which is a shame, i feel it's overrated and not many of them picked up Halo 3 till late which is ironic i guess. Nevertheless, I've still had more fun on Halo 2 despite the lower skill needed to be good compared to the other games than i have with alot of other online games.
