In CE I remember Cortana saying the rings were built to starve the flood...but that implies the array didn't kill them.

I thought the one in Halo 3 was activated, but in a short burst that destroyed it...?

The one in Halo 3 was activated yes but because it was new it ripped itself apart. It wasn't fully complete.

There are more Flood on the other Halo rings. We only saw 2. 3 if you want to get technical.

Rain, and Jazz.
Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

We saw 2 complete rings, the ark, and one partialy built one in Bungie's Halo series. Prior to the game (and as heavily implied/stated in Halo 3's terminals) the rings were activated as a last line of defense.

Only the partialy build one was fired (in the games). Only the Ark, the first one, and the partialy uild one have been destroyed.

The ring starves the flood by killing its food. The partialy built one exploded massively.

The halos did kill them exept for the ones kept on the halos.

Because the Halo rings were never activated.

They were activated 100,000 years prior to the games.

Seriously, how can anyone deny this? It's explicitly stated numerous times. Both by 343 Guilty Spark and 2401 Penitent Tangent.

I think Cortana misspoke in Halo 1; Halo does kill Flood AND their food. (Funny how those words are 1 letter apart)

If there is a Flood form that can survive a blast (which I'm 99% certain there isn't), it'd have nothing to sustain itself on, both nutritionally, and cognitively.

Yes, I know that. I was on about the ones in the games.

...Which was the point. To starve the flood.

What the rings do is send out sound waves at a super ultra high level thats kills organic matter( I Think). Activating a ring is different then destroying it.

That was refering to the replacement Halo 04 under construction. It wasn't finish being built yet. Which is why a pre-mature firing would have destroyed it.

You'd think there'd be a fail-safe against that sort of thing.
