Lets Boogie

I looked on the halopedia, and it seems to say that guns like the MA5D, are the MA5's in Forward Unto Dawn, as well as the pistol.

But why are halo 4 weapons being used in 2526? Doesn't it make more sense for them to be using the MA5B? Or even the MA37?

Because it really doesn't make sense for the MA5D (and therefore the MA5C) to exist at the beginning of the covenant-human war, and for the most part, not use these guns as the main weapon of the UNSC until the later years of the war.

If you actually read the article on the MA5D then you'll know that it was around in 2526 though in limited use.

I did read the article, so i know that. I just think it would have made more sense for the people in Forward Unto Dawn to use the MA5B, which at that time, was the main UNSC assault rifle being issued. It doesn't make sense to me, that a bunch of rookies are being given new limited amount of MA5D's, instead of the older MA5B.

It would be as if the USA military hypothetically invented the M16A2 and A4 around the beginning of the Vietnam war, but even so, the military soldiers throughout the war were equipped with the M16A1. What would make it even weirder if that recruits being trained at boot camp during these days, were equipped with the newest A4, instead of being issued A1's.

Reach for Halo!

While the lore backs it up, at the end of the day, FUD, while it is the Halo Movie we have all been waiting for, is still just a very impressive marketing campaign for the launch of Halo 4. Next week will be the final episode, then 4 days later the game comes out...it builds hype, which ultimately builds sales.
