The Forerunner, the Great Journey, and Heaven Theory

[Announcement Trailer] Halo: Forerunner

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

This just in - the sky is blue.

Do your job.

in my opinion they are. they are doing a great job for what the deal with. I'm not saying that to suck up to them. I'm just saying it because its my opinion and pretty much true haha.

Like I said there is a very good reason why they are the forum ninjas not us.

They don't just close threads without a reason and if they might there is other ninjas to talk over why and the higher up ones with make a final chose on it.

they have many ways of making sure things don't happen without a reason.

Those are the rules and you are there to enforce them, when the police arrest people they don't just hand them a book with a bunch of laws in it they have to explain what the person has done wrong.

Do your job.

LOL @ someone who thinks he's entitled to something on here when he's given much more than he deserves. Grow up.

With an attitude like yours, I'm sure we will soon see them able to do just that!

Good thing most thread locks are accompanied by a PM, warning, or ban to explain to the OP why their thread is locked.

I do not owe you anything.

It's pretty convenient for you then, you don't actually have to explain it to me that way.

Convenient? Maybe so. But since this is a volunteer gig, I am glad that I am not obligated to provide a "customer service experience" on a fan-community forum. If I were a paid employee and this were a customer/consumer experience, then yeah, maybe I might have to put in the effort to explain to each and every person "what you did wrong and why I did my job".

You don't/didn't like how I explained it? Sorry. But if you're able to see/hear/detect MY tone, please feel free to use that ability on YOUR post and see what it tells you.

But by explaining it actually in the thread it would enforce the rules in the minds of potentially newer posters, I believe you would be doing a lot more good that way.

Lots of times they do. evilcam does it a lot, for example. BUT, that's not them doing they're job. That's them going above and beyond their job.

and like they have all been saying this isn't even a job they all volunteer for this and they all do go above and beyond and we should all be thankful and respectful to them for what they do here.

Which I expect them to do.

Noted.

But not going to change my process unless or until I am asked/directed by our hosts to change my practices.

Expect away. Be prepared to be disappointed however.

If you believe a mod is abusing their powers, you should take it up with a superuser.

Protip: It'd be a waste of your time in this case.

Usually people only volunteer for jobs when they care for the cause, obviously not the case here.
Volunteer firefighters fight fires. They do not stay with the families afterwards, organize fundraisers for the families, work tireless day in and day out with the police to figure out the exact cause of the fire, and work with construction workers to help rebuild the houses that get burned down.

This does not, however, diminish their passion for helping people and firefighting.

You misunderstand. I've been a volunteer in this role for a very long time because I do enjoy and care for this community.

What is "not the case" here is that your view of what "my job is" is not shared or reflected by our hosts and my bosses. If THEY were to ask/direct me to comply with YOUR desires, then I would. But they have not. So, what is "not the case here" is that your expectations of "my job" are not accurate. My role is made by our hosts, and if they have a directive for me, I either comply, or I resign. Your expectations are not a part of that process.

But it's nice to see that you think that they are. Amusing, and nice.
