It has upset me that people believe the sword is too strong, but what about the sentinal beam?

Backwash is the only map that automatically has it and this is a perfect example of it's problems. The beam that can strip shields and kill you in about 5 seconds is a little OTT, but the range! Standing on your bases hill you could fire and hit the other base! Swords will get burnt before reaching you, no other shooting weapon on backwash even compares to it.

I tried it on Zanzibar and although it still sucumbed to a sniper round at a LOOOONG distance, it still ruled over any weapon a mid or close range. Not even dual plasma rifles have that stopping power.

Has anyone else seen this?

Sorry, needed to put in this:

Should this be changed in HALO 3?

No.

If anything. It's not strong enough. It's already not as powerful in Halo 2 as it was in Halo(including shielding factor).

What? Have you used it in MP? (multiplayer)

Dual plasma rifles going on full cannot stop it! It is way more powerful on HALO 2 than in one.

I dont see what's wrong with it, it is advanced technology after all; more so then the covenants so commen sense tells you that it's as powerful as it should be. Remember that the sentinal beams were specifically designed to kill flood and it takes a lot of ammunition from machineguns and so on to kill the flood meaning that obviously the sentinal beams need to be strong or else they would be as good as inaffective against the flood. Please dont complain about things that dont need complaining against.

Who are you to say this doesn't need complaining against? That's very wrong.

I say the sword is fine, my opinion, but people want to change it, there opinion.

I say the beam should be changed, again my opinion, you don't want it changed your opinion.

KEY WORD: opinion. No single opinion is right, so you cannot say this doesn't need complaining against. Come up with a more feasable answer, after all, they removed the fuel rod from MP.

See, a sensible question.

Not now, not since the bills came saying £60! But during the time I had it the beam was very powerful, the couple of times I used it I got plenty of killing sprees. But then these games were few as they had to have custom weapons.
