No. It would drown out the usage of the mics when talking with other team players.

No one should ever be afraid of looking stupid, so long as they are making a rational effort to expand their understanding.

Uhhh... I guess you can't get enough of online idiots piping their bad music into their mics... or the worse singing... This "idea" would only encourage chaos from the elmos and music snobs in the lobby.

naw it would be cool if you had custom soundtraks on halo and it only played during gameplay and i know that wouldn't interfere with communication because conflict global terror has it and i never had a problem hearing anyone ... but only you will be able to hear no one else

it would drown out the sounds that bungie put into the levels plus would almost make the mic useless

Later

Ingame Music for Dummies:
Start up your 360, and load up a 360 game. Done? Good. You see that shiny button with the X in the middle of your controller? Press that. You see the menu? Good. Now, you see that thing saying "Select Music"? Go to that, then find te music you want. You need to have the music on your hard drive, memory usint or USB stick that is connected to the 360 to listen to it.

Right, chosen your music? Excellent! I see your getting the hang of this!
Now, if your music doesn't start playing, press the play button, and then return to your game, and there ya go. Your music is playing while you play the game! And the best bit is it overrides the in-game music, so you don't get conflicting sounds!

Better still just listen to your choice of music on a seperate sound system......instead of trying to make things complicated.

OK, yes, it is very true that I'm a dumb ass. I'm not denying that. However, isn't the whole point of a beta to increase the amount of users until you get someone dumb enough to try something you haven't anticipated.
Johnrap - Unofficial Dumbass of Halo 3 Beta

everyone with an xbox 360 can put whatever music they want on durring any 360 game

also you dont even need to fill up your xbox's hard drive with music, you can just link your xbox to your computer and stream the music off your computer, takes up no harddrive space

well. i already have friends that play music through their headsets, and in good quality too, because you could just modify computer speakers to plug into your headset to play mp3s as if they're coming from the microphone directly.

and yes. listening to "what is love?" while playing MLG is kickass.

hehe this reminds me of a game where i was playing with four guys in team slayer we ended up playing team rockets at ivory tower .. the other team was getting in a line and congoing around the map listening to "Hey" and eventually our team joined them and someone we all ended up in one of those pistol rooms at the bottum by the elevator .. so we have eight people in that tiny room and we all have rockets .... i was the first to shoot lol

90% of all 360 games offer custom soundtracks (you can upload music on to your 360 and play it during games) so, you could play your own music on your own 360 and leave the other people to play their music.

Although you don't suck for not having one, Halo 3 will only be on the 360, and so asking fo a feature such as this on teh Xbox is pointless. I only said that, because only 360 users will be able to play the game in the first place.
