I've been watching them again and I still can't figure out what the ship is that crash lands on the Halo before the events of the game.

Where did it come from? Why did they not exit? What is the significance of this in the Halo lore????

I assume it will be brought up at some point in the future.

It sure doesn't match any ship I'm familiar with. I feel like it was a setup for Halo4 ... or completely innocuous.

So we don't have any information on it apart from what we got in the terminal?

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Nope. Just that it is likely what drove GS to abandon protocol when the Autumn crashed.

Things WILL be different...

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

They didn't exit either because they all died in the crash or there was no one on the ship to begin with when it crashed.

I first thought it was a ship from some random civilazation that the Forerunners hadn't discovered in the galaxy and that was caught by the Halo Effect and eventually drifted there since it didn't match any known records the Monitor had...

Then again, would the monitor have records on what Ancient Humanity ships looked like? It could have been that was left adrift after the war or from survivors that escaped the ultimate fate of the rest of the survivors of the war...

Egh, to much speculation.
