Hi

I got this problem when playing Halo PC where my comp freezes after a while and start being corrupted. The screen lock and there is some distortion and then it screw up. Also the sound play back to when it locked over and over. My graphic card is an ATI Radeon X300 SE HyperMemory 128mb (i know it's not the best one out there). What i find weird is that the graphic are pretty good but it bug out like that. I checked on Bungie's support pages and they said to disable Anti-Aliasing but i don't know how to do that. So help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Post all of your specs.

Go to Run and type dxdiag

You may have crappy speed for your motherboard.

I have an Intel Pentium 4 2.80GHz and 510mb of RAM. And yesterday i tested my comp speed to try and fix that problem by opening over 50 programs and switching user (WinXP) and there was no slowdown. And if it can help my video settings in Halo are set to:

1028x768 display
60hx
vsync
decals - yes
shadow - yes
specular - yes
particles - high
testures - high

On my graphic card control panel i have everything set on performance instead of quality.

And by the way, it also do it on Halo Custom Edition

Your graphics card sucks, it can't handle those settings. Turn them down.

Mainboard, or, more commonly known as, "motherboard".

It's the part of the PC that every other part connects to.

Try putting the settings a bit lower.

You also might have some spyware/virusses.

It scans for virusses and spyware with alot of engines ( like spybot S&D etc etc )

Run a full scan, restart your pc.
And tell us if you still have the problem.

If that didn't help, make sure you downloaded the newest driver for everything ( that includes your mobo, wich can be very dangerous to do.)

i normally have that problem on halo ce. its usually when i'm playing coldsnap. everything freexes and the sound playes over and over. i just press the start button on the keyboard and the ctrl + alt + del to close out halo. then after that i can usually restart it and it will work. i also notice that i had my computer pressed up right by the side of my desk. i moved it out because before when playing halo you could almost cook an egg on the top of my computer (cooking on computer is NOT recommended) it got so hot. its not as much now because theres more airflow. so my suggestion is to move it away from anything so that it cools off better. that might help.
