Not that it would be as big of a deal as I used to think, I would still do away with target tracking rocket launchers and just let it stay the way it used to be. The way it was in Halo when it took more skill to use it.

Anyone else?...

I wouldn't take out anything! I think it's awesome already.

P.S. Hello

Yeah, target tracking is extremely unbalanced. They should make it hard for people to lock on so it will balance out a little.

Lets save this topic for when the game actually comes out. Until then, you can't make a clear descision on whether it's a good feature or not.

You haven't even played the game, how the heck would you know if it was unbalanced or not? I'm sure all the people who previewed the game would have said something about it if it was that bad.

The only thing I would want taken out of Halo 2 is the... umm... nothing.

Well, I could certainly do without something that doesn't require as much skill as opposed to something that would. And change is usually not a good thing anyway a lot of times. If the rocket launcher was good before, why change it? I don't think anybody while playing Halo was thinking "Man, I wish this rocket launcher had homing abillities." Unless you are a n00b I suppose.

bah

Let's put it this way, now, instead of shooting the rocket and forgetting, you'll have people standing out in the open tracking stuff. They are now wide open targets. I'll still use the rockets the old fashioned way a lot, shoot straight and run away.

Yes I did, and I completely disagree with you. Homing rockets could bring a new tactical skill to the game, and I'm sure it'll be fun to try and dodge the rockets. In the video, one of his homing rockets did miss and the second only hit him because of splatter damage. Look at the part just before he runs out of ammo.

No, no, no, when Jo fired the second tracking rocket, he left it alone and didn't follow the target with the crosshair. This suggest you don't have to follow the target all the way until the rocket hits.

who cares if ther is target tracking. If someone locks onto you while you are driving/flying you hit the boost button and out run the rocket!

My thumbsticks will be your Doom.... sorry 'bout that.
My Stats

I think they wouldn't have just added the homing feature without tweeking other parts of the game to even it out. An obvious reason they might've added the tracking is that there will be flying vehics (banshee's, hopefully a human one) and that would definitely require some homing capabilities (have you ever tried to hit a banshee in Campaign that wasn't flying directly at you?!). Plus i think everyone should relax it looks like it only works on vehicles and not a spartan or elite running around on foot... and besides the game is not even out yet or even finished so I agree that this topic is better suited for after Nov. 9th.
