Haters are going to hate.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

My question is, if the rings were fired a long time ago by the Forerunners and killed all sentient life within the galaxy including the flood... why are the flood still on the rings "at all" starting with Halo CE... shouldn't the ring be void of sentient life and the flood? This is actually one of the better question one can ask about Halo. It is far to often dismissed as a technical detail, one that should be overlooked because the intent remains the same.
Silencium might solve all the problems I am about to list, or just address some of them; give reasons for why it is as it is, casue right now, how the Forerunner handled the Flood is just sloppy and unfathomably inefficient, if one applies any logic on the matter. They're not at all on the level of their supposed intellect.
Here are some simple examples:
-If the Flood were able to survive within a Forerunner structure such as the Gas Mine, what's to say they didn't survive in caves or other Forerunner structurs; areas that were sheltered from the blast?
-Primordium reveals to us that the Forerunners have a device that is able to speed up the course of time within an area. This means that they could have checked how long it takes to starve a Flood spore.. I'm not going anywhere in particular with this point...
-If the Forerunner can index a human being, how come they didn't just index the Flood instead of keeping them in a lab? Or is the Flood spore too complex? Don't tell me it's made of patricles that are smaller and less readable than atoms...
"Deep in the bowels of Installation 05 things have gotten a little out of hand. I hope you packed extra underwear." ~Map description of Cold Storage. Is the plot written clumbsily just to make a Flood outbreak possible? Even if this map description or level in general isn't canon (is it?), Flood outbreaks happen too easy.
-And what if the Flood came back from outside the galaxy, how would they know?!
-Why did only fire the rings once, why not through a period of ten thousand years? And have a couple of trillion sentinels scan the galaxy. Make sure it starved. It is as if they aren't taking it seriously. "Fired? Oh.. Done! I'm going to bed.." ~The Didact. (only a joke).
I'm having a really hard time accepting that a teir 1 civilization could be as disorganized as they are made out to be as an excuse to drive the plot, but as I said, Silencium might bring answers for of all of that, give reason for everything, just make it fall in place, but right now, their protocols and choises don't make much sense.
