Subject: Do you think ONI knew about the clones?

The reason I have made this topic is because in all the kilo-five threads it always seems to boil down right to this point. So I wanted to make a thread about it because you have replies about what the topic is about and then you have it high jacked what this topic is about.

Of course they did, they were part of the approved plan from the moment they knew they would be using kids as the next generation of super soldiers. It wasn't something Halsey did all on her own and secretly.

But the other side says a. ONI did not know about it

Or

b. What Halsey did was wrong.

Or c. Karen Traviss didn't know what she was talking about. There is simply no way Halsey could hide all the resources and personnel to make the clones and then swap them when they kidnapped the actual Spartan-II candidates.

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

Not relevant here. =P

And I'm suprised that people think ONI doesn't know what its low-to-mid -tier people are doing...

EDIT: I choose the secret option c. =P

Hey there Cobra. But the thing is that it is now canon. And 343i said that the forerunner and kilo-five books are tied to the new games.

Doesn't mean they broke canon to get to that point. I mean come on now, the Spartan-IIs knew about the clones, but the head of ONI didn't?

I agree with you. Personally I find the kilo.five books retarded like how Maggie is telling osmen to be cold but now she wants to tell everyone all about the S-I
I project? Hell if Hood heard about that pre kilo, I'm sure he would have shot her himself.

ONI knew, no doubt. Ackerson was always spying on her and would've ratted her out. Also, in Halsey's Journal, she mentions reporting to the Vice Admiral, about being ready for the next phase, candidate procurement. She always was reporting to somebody. This is a typical scapegoat routine to force Halsey into, basically, slavery. But what bugs me is that Parangosky seems to believe it herself.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Of course they did. To think other wise would be stupidly naive.

Margie had to have noticed the the funds being directed towards the whole clone operation, which IMO, couldn't have been cheap. Parangosky's just trying to make Halsey out to be the devil, and she's obsessed with that. She's no better psychologically than Halsey is. She's just trying to divert attention from herself before she retires.

She had the records, she's just playing it smart by waiting for the right moment to open the can on Halsey.
