Flood do not starve to death, they simply go dormant until they find food (don't ask me how they find food while dormant lol).

The Forerunners knew they had lost the war. They knew the Flood would enslave them, raising them like cattle as hosts. They had to destroy the Flood Empire, so killed everyone in the galaxy. The Monitors were assigned to study Flood samples......the Forerunners knew the Flood would lie dormant until sentient life rose again.

After 100,000 years, the Monitors could see no way to defeat the Flood. Halo was NEVER MEANT TO STOP THE FLOOD. It was to buy time for the Monitors to find a way to stop the Flood. Without hosts, the Flood seem quite manageable. Sentinels cut through them. With hosts.....you have already seen it.

ok i think baratos is right but still perhaps some forerunners survived on ark on earth.... think about it why do the covenant fear humans and not let them join? because we resemble forerunners to much.
