Many pilots of the falcon fail to use the vehicle to its full potential. The vehicle typically gets used like a rather stationary air warthog with a big neon kill me and all my friends please sign on the bumper.
To use the falcon you should not be bumbling slowly about trying to let your thumb-less 5 year old brother take everyones shields out as they get into cover, the falcon was born to be used as a splatter craft.
The basics to understanding proper falcon splattering use are as follows
Gunners are only good for two things: killing enemy air and preventing you from being shot.
Two of the bigger threats to the falcon are the banshee and other falcons. The only time you want to have a friendly gunner is when you have these vehicles in the air. To kill another falcon try to keep it both under and in front of you, that way you can control the fight and make it impossible to be shot. Banshees are less threatening, just drive around the map fast and turn a bunch while your gunner picks away at them.
The only other time a gunner can be nice to have is when you pick up a guy (accidentally of course) from the other team. This can have either the positive effect of making it so neither team shoots you or it can turn you into a giant bullet sponge. If the latter occurs pilot towards the water sideways as fast as you can, if the gunner gets out you will at least get a splatter for it.
People make the mistake of trying to land the falcon on others, this is pretty ineffective. What you want to do is fly around at full speed and ram into groups of people. Do not altitude lock just tap your right trigger and push forward to go full speed with control.
