The same Palmer who said she wanted John's babies for running across open ground for a Warthog?

A Palmer was in Palace Hotel, she said this:

"Chief, I believe that I can honestly say that even though you are an honest-to-Buddha one-man death squad, and that if you were to ask nicely I'd give up my lucrative career in the Corps and start pumping out your babies just as fast as you could put them in me, there is no way I am gonna run across fifty goddamn meters of open terrain covered by three jackal snipers that I can see just to jump into an open vehicle. Throwing myself on a goddamn grenade makes more sense than that."

Can't be the same palmer.

Sadly though, since it would have been a neat tie into the lore... but 343 seems to be ignoring the evolutions stories anyway.

The Palmer SIV is described as being one of the first recruits, and having been an LT in command of others for a long time.

The Palmer in Palace hotel was just a Corporal.

It's still possible. Palace Hotel took place during the events Halo 2.

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

And the Spartan-IVs prevalently started even before that or barely after.

So where were they during the events of Halo 3?

The Return links with both The Thursday War and Primordium. From the Office could become significant later in the series too.

Not helping because Parangosky has gone full retarded.

Also, the problem is Halo 4 takes place only 3 years later. Palmer was a Corperal, and it was stated in her bio she had been an Lt for a long while, with 12 campaigns under her belt on 8 planets.

There is no way for the two to be the same person. Halo doesn't have people jumping ranks like Ashley Williams of ME3.

If anything, it has people who stay with the same rank for an unholy amount of time! :P

Pretty obvious Cole's going to return at some point, too. Even if only in the books.

The events of Halo 2 took place near the end of 2552 while the S-IV's have been in open for a few years.

Corporal to Lieutenant is a huge jump in a year.

Commander actually. the halo 4 guide says she is a commander, but was a marine LT for a long time.

It's possible if she attended OCS to get commissioned (though it's highly unlikely given that there is an apocalyptic war being fought).

Another possibility is a field commission, which is extremely rare, but very real.

Not saying it's the same person after all, just playing devil's advocate.

While an awesome thought (It seriously would be awesome if it was the same palmer)...

It's impossible due to her bio Palmer was born to embittered colonial parents, though she did not share their disdain for the United Nations Space Command. She joined the UNSC Marine Corps sometime during the 2540s, serving in twelve tours on eight different worlds. She spent much her career in the Marine Corps as a lieutenant. Because of her physical prowess, innate tactical leadership, and unquestioning loyalty to the UNSC, the Office of Naval Intelligence accepted her as one of the first recruits for the SPARTAN-IV program.

You can't have spent much of your career as an Lt and be a corporal during the battle of Earth.

It's possible if she managed to piss someone off enough to demote her that far. But very unlikely.

As not one of you has any clue what you are talking about, a Corporal is an NCO, a Lieutenant is the 2nd rank of the officer chain of command

It is very easy to make Lieutenant in 2 years...2nd Lieutenant is the first officer rank.

Please, before any of you make anymore dumb statements like these do some research.

A: Palmer enlisted sometime in the 2540's.
B: Palmer spent most of her career as an LT before being one of the FIRST S4 recruits.
C: Palmer in Palace Hotel is a Corporal.
D: Therefore, sadly, the two people cannot be the same.

Nope, she's been an LT for 5+ planetary campaigns according to the Halo 3 guide. So possibly a sister or something?

And who ever honestly thinks you can go from a Corporal to a Lieutenant in less than 5 years? No.

Officer's Candidate School takes over a year by it's self, then you essentially have to get a college degree in what you're leading, which is another 5 years. And besides, there would be NO reason for a Corporal to be accepted into OCS in the first place in TODAY's armed forces. This is the same OCS Luna in the UNSC that tried to kick out Vice Admiral Preston Cole for crying out loud, why would they accept a loud mouthed Marine?

Ah. Admittedly I'm not familiar with the character. I was merely responding to the fact that a Corporal can indeed become a Second Lieutenant in a year's time frame, albeit not easily.

If you're saying its very easy to make 2nd Lieutenant in 2 years, starting from your enlistment, then you are very wrong. Enlisted cannot attain officer ranks (outside of warrant officer) without receiving a commission through the methods I've listed in a previous post.

Now, if you mean from a Corporal to 2nd Lieutenant...then yes, it's very possible, but again, only through a commissioning in a method I've listed.

I am alpha, i am omega.

I am the last of the primes.

If it is that Palmer, then i can see epic lolz in halo 4.

Chief "So Palmer how about we start making some Spartan baby's"

Palmer "What?"

Chief: "Oh i no what the ladies the like"
