Subject: Remove quitting?

Don’t get mad if I flame you because you cannot spell, or because my three year old has better grammar and etiquette than you.

Quitting has always been an issue, most of the time its someone passing the time til more friends jump on. Sometimes its a problem with cheating or just getting owned.
A lot of the time it is legitamate. But if they really are quitting they are going to turn off thier xbox 360 so WHY not remove it, FROM RANKED GAMES ONLY!

Yes only remove it from ranked games, hopefully that will slow the derankers as well.

I know most of the people that quit are just passing the time until friends jump on, but why not make a BTB game that never ends, so to speak, just let people jump in and out at anytime, that way they can kill, grab flags, plant bombs drive vehicles around while waiting for thier friends to jump on.

But I do feel that quitting a game should be removed from RANKED gametypes, there really isnt a point in having it there.

There are better ways to deal with quitting a game than simply removing it from the menu.

Don't worry, we have a good plan for dealing with quitters. It is on the list.

yes there is. its called 'i dont want to play this game anymore because there is no hope of our team winning'

EDIT: however, a lot of people quit for no valid reason and that causes a team to lose when they could have won.

Metroid Hunters On the DS has no quitting, only way u can leave the game is by turning it off. And it will show on ur Stat card how many times u quit.

No Ds players are complaing about that.

I was saying this would be a good idea.
There stats would be negativly impacted for leaving.

But in reply to the people having to use the toilet, just park yourself in a corner, that is what I do.

I am glad to hear a response, but bummed that people still want to quit games.

I know the 360 has a feature to report quitters also so you can see thier feedback, maybe that is what Achronos means, maybe there will be a Filter of sorts.

Any other ideas?

Why does everybody think that lowering people's stats for leaving is a punishment? It's only a punishment for people who have a strange relationship with their level.

At that point you can either Park your spartan or elite or turn your console off, making it more difficult for people who just love to quit games.

That is my point.

Also dropping thier levels are what they are after so that REALLY wouldnt help the problem. Some people need to think before they type, that would essentially be rewarding them, OR giving them what they want.

I dont know if MS will allow gamer points to be removed, so HOW would you punish them, there really isnt a good way to go that I can think of.

Hence why I think it should be removed from RANKED GAMES ONLY!

Hm.

So what if the quitting problem is solved in halo 3? People could just as easily turn off the Xbox in the middle of a match.

Then drop your controller or turn off your 360, drop to your dashboard of whatever.

Maybe a 1 hour suspension for quitting 4 games per hour should be served as a penalty.

  • 06.29.2006 6:00 PM PDT

correct me if i am wrong.

currently in H2MM, if you quit, and your team wins, your rank goes up, and when your team loses, your rank goes down.

I think thats right but im not sure.

This is why you can choose the category of gaming you can play in, so before you start telling people to think before they type, you might want to do the same
