That's true...but weather you admit it or not...your status as moderator makes you stand out much more than ANYBODY else on this forum. When you were a "member" you were probably known for your posts, name and signature...but not very many people noticed that I'm sure. Now, everybody recicgnises you for being a moderator...with white text and a custom avatar everybody knows what you are now. If you REALLY want to be regular and want to be known for your wisdom (which you obviousely have plenty of) you should convince Achronos to remove your custom avatar and that shiny text and just make you a moderator rank like every moderator in the groups are. This idea would help regular members like me be unique almost as much as you.
Its something that cannot be helped. So until Soul returns to us and is able to correctly moderate the forums, we will continue to have this hierarchy of members. I don't think its really a problem though, just seems like one.
Lets use Achronos as an example: he's a normal guy, works for bungie, and made bungie.net. He has full authority over everything in the website. So is it unfair for him to be just a normal member? Yes, because he has things with the website that he has to work on constantly to ensure it works flawlessly, which is, as we all see, a timeless job.
But remember the first thing i said? Normal guy. Just like the rest of us (well, some ladies too). The only difference is that he's got a special avatar and when he posts somewhere there's a special golden icon. The problem isn't with him, its with the people who act like flies attracted to the light.
The same works for mods. If you see a mod was the last one to post in a thread and its still open, people fly to the thread. Why? Because the mod's hold a higher status, aka, the light. Thus most people are attracted to it because they think its cool in some sort of way.
And in a way, it is. All of the mod's are great with the forums and are, as they should be, a source of information, help, and generally good conversation. They aren't mod's for nothing. Bearing all that in mind, its incredibly difficult to, on the one hand, recognize that they are just normal people too, and on the other, respect them for the fact that they are experienced and generally awesome on the forums.
The dichotomy is hard to appreciate, and even harder to become accustomed too. However, it is a struggle that every member on the forums, including the moderators (although the reasons for that are slightly different and have been mentioned already), bungie.net staff (the online staff), and even non-members.
