Does anyone play firefight for fun, and not AFKing? I'm not saying that everyone AFK's, i'm just saying that only a few people seem to play firefight for fun.

Yes. But its only fun when you pull host.

If you don't have host, you're gonna have a bad time.

ODST: Yes.

Reach: LOL. That gametype is pretty much there for an easy way to earn credits and complete challenges. Bungie took all the fun out of it. By turning it into a point whoring fest.

Firefight was better in Reach all around in every way...

It was the game-type that everyone had a problem with, not the actual build of the mode.

They took the fun out of firefight in reach, it's just too easy. I loved firefight in ODST, it felt more of a survival.

I remember when I first played ODST's firefight. When a roaring Brute Chieftan charged at me, I confidently lept at him, remembering how weak Reach's chieftans were. THAT was a nice surprise, and I had to update all my tactics around stopping these monsters, which was pretty much this:
WAVE ONE
-take cover from dropship
-kill covenant on ground w/ turret as friend covers stairs
WAVE TWO-FOUR
-Get "snipey", as I like to call it.
-Try not to die
WAVE FIVE
-detatch turret, and use it to kill first chieftan.
-Use chieftan's hammer to kill remaining covenant
AND BEYOND
-Use combination Sniper Rifle/hammer until I inevitably and painfully die in Round 2.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

The only thing I've had fun doing in FF was making a gametype similar to TF2, and playing it with friends. MM was a connection nightmare.

when you make your own difficult but possible gametype and proper load-outs, it sure is fun.

It doesn't matter how great you can make the gametypes and loadouts. The majority of Reach's Firefight maps were not designed for survival like ODST's. They were designed to run around the map to get the most points possible.
