Real shame though. I was really hoping that 343i would have the grace and class to give credit to Bungies legacy by showing at least a brief glimpse of original Mk V or Mk VI, or even the old UNSC logo tucked in there as an easter egg.

I feel like the former employees of Bungie who are now in 343i wanted to do that, but they were told by Microsoft to NOT do that sort of thing. They could've ATLEAST used the Halo Wars armor for the flashback becuase they're already made in CGI level graphics.

I can only please one person per day.

Today isn't your day.

Tomorrow isn't looking too good either.

I want to know why their explanation violates a basic law of physics.

You can't make something from nothing....and their explanation says Cortana only "modified" the Chief's armor. Bu it clearly has significantly more material on/in now.

So where did all of that come from?

Yeah thats what I'm going with; artistic license and a failure for attention to detail by 343. Maybe they just didn't want to show Bungie Mk V or Mk VI in those cutscenes because they view Bungies work as a competitor, and didn't want people to start reminiscing over a different game or losing focus on Halo 4. That sort of thing.

Also, showing the new H4 armor keeps it simple for everyone watching it, its only under scrutiny does it stop making sense.

Honestly I think it was more of they just didn't have time/want to make new assets/models.

Like how the Paris-class frigates are always appearing the same, but Charon-class have a new look. How the FuD has the new UNSC symbol, how they use Halycon class cruisers in the cutscenes instead of Marathon class or other ships.

Waypoint Moderators aren't really Moderators, just power hungry and its goal is defend their beloved Halo at all costs. (Meaning that they wank Halo too much.)

BS Angel is alleged foe so, be wary of Waypoint and its moderators! Do not attempt to move to Waypoint. Enter your own risk.

*WARNING* IT IS MY OPINION.

Cry more. If you dont like it, don't play the game.

Derp.

343i said it was basically customized by Cortana.

Didn't know that.

Also, IMO in the halo 4 intro it seems like chief is looking over his gloves/forearms as if the armor wasn't how he remembered. Then he goes "You've been busy".

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

343i changed it from the beginning.

...what?

They made Anniversary for Christ's sake, a direct remake of Bungie's Halo: CE. They barely changed any of the actual visual elements Bungie put in the game apart from graphically updating them. At Halo Fest, 343i specifically had members of Bungie on panel to talk about the Halo universe, including Marty O'Donnell.

How are they trying to "see Bungie as a competitor" for a game that Bungie no longer works on, exactly?

Haters are going to hate.
Praisers are going to praise.

The Bungie Forums are what keeps my mind sharp and my fingers active, between writing my own movie scripts, drawing, and studying industrial design. At the moment I'm working on miniatures for a short movie that I'll hopefully be able to film once I've saved up for a camera... That's me, with the mug, trying to have a conversation with Konoko.

You can't be serious right? A direct remake? Don't be fooled by it being based on the exact same levels, it is not a direct remake, it's a reimagination/redesign. The textures in the Saber3d mode are not the same textures with higher resolution, they are reimagined. Many of the 3d models are not only more complex, they're redesigned. A lot of artistic freedom has been applied to the game. The visuals do not evoke the same feelings, they are not of the same style and characteristics. CE is subtle, clean, Anniversary is overworked and cluttered. It is not the same game.

Doesn't the log telling Chief's back story from Halo 1-3 that you find on the first level show a picture of Chief in MK V or VI armor? I might have to go back and look at that screen again.

Also, all those "flashback" scene's are not likely actual flashbacks at all, but visual representations of what someone is thinking based on the story being told there by Halsey. A little like the visuals for the Halo Legends episodes "Origin." They can't necessarily be canon.

Another also, if they for some reason DID retcon Chief's new armor as being the original Mark VI, in what situation did that many Spartans, much less all in one place, ever have Mark VI to begin with? There were some prototypes of it out there, and Chief didn't get his until Halo 2 when most of the Spartan II's were gone. That fact alone should show that these scenes are just a visual montage to represent events succinctly for the audience.

Edit: Went back and looked at the log record at the beginning of the first level and yeah, the screen shows some promo/concept art from Halo 2 w/Chief in his regular Mark VI armor and a shot of the concept art that I think was made for Reach, but didn't really have much to do with the game, where it shows Chief (or another Spartan II) geting his Mark V armor put on by technicians. So there was a brief glimpse of BOTH Mark V and VI in there for you. You just have to look for it. It's really easy to find.

Easter Egg Hunter. Apprentice Tricker/Glitcher (learning from Grumpy and Sliding Ghost).

Trying to get Waypoint to update Halo 3 stats in detail like here. Now no one can see that my Halo 3 Spartan no longer looks like my Reach Spartan.

Really want to be a Heroic member or have a title. :/

I know right? I read in numerous places that his armor change would be explained in game and the Chief himself didn't even acknowledge the change.

He looked at it and said to Cortana, "You've been busy." It's not a lot, but he DID acknowledge it.

Not necessarily more material. There's more in some places, but less in others. We also don't know how dense it is now vs before, or if there is just plain hollow parts vs before.... also there is a half a ship full of raw materials if they did need it.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

I quote from the halo 4 level dawn (Not 100% accurate:

Chief: You've been busy
Cortana: I updated your firmware while you were sleeping.

Basically cortana made the updates to the armour while chief was in cryo.

Something I said. The way he looks at his hands/forearms and moves his fingers makes me think that he is thinking "This is new."
