The best times I've ever had playing Halo were in Halo 1 racing with the BFM crew or in Halo 3 playing with a regular group of friends.

Thanks for the kind words, T1d3.

However, at Bungie, we are far more interested in the beginnings of eras than we are in the ends of them.

Not much really changes tonight. Bungie is still here. We still make games we want to play. Halo is still a good game - or at least that seems to be the case.

And, the Bungie Community will be a passionate mob who loves to engage in heated debate about all things game-related - and otherwise. It will be interesting to see what you have to say about this game, and to play it with you. Above all else, remember that some of our good friends bled for Halo 4, and we want nothing more than for them to succeed.

Totally agree, I'm far more interested on the beginning of Bungie's new universe. Halo, not so much anymore.

I can almost taste Destiny! ;D

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

While they are moving on to bigger and better thingsIf their new game is better than Halo, I can only imagine what wonders it holds.

OT: My best memory would have to be actually finding and joining this site. It led to everything else, so it is best.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

Every game has had some great memories, Halo CE for the scope of the Campaign.

Halo 2 for the amazing multiplayer - the final games of Halo 2 on xbox live, playing well after the servers were shut down, were one of the greatest moments I've had with a controller in my hand.

Halo 3 for the awesome ARG which introduced to me to the community and the best campaign I've played on any game ever.

Halo Reach too, for actually getting me above a K/D of 1 haha, and making me a sniper boss (thanks autoaim), also for over 17 days (408 hours) worth of gameplay - more than I've played on any game ever, (Mario Kart 64 might be close though). First time I ever got to play with an employee too (Thanks DeeJ)

Can't wait to see what Bungie have cooking in the oven for us. In a few years time, I bet I'll have even more moments of awesome courtesy of Bungie studios.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I will be heading to Game Stop soon. Halo 4 probably won't leave my Xbox for quite a while but my heart is always here.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

It does indeed feel different.

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle- victorious"

For us, the era has passed. But let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark. For their decision required courage beyond measure; sacrifice, and unshakable conviction. As we start to rebuild, this game will remain a memorial. They ennobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten.

Best Halo memory: Every second of my time spent playing Halo.

"The bark on the trees was as soft as the skies."
While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely;
Crying to the moon,
"If only, if only."

Does nobody remember Hog Racing on Zanzibar in Halo 2?

I still remember waking up early Christmas morning of 2007 and playing some of my last Halo 2 multiplayer matches before getting Halo 3.

It's really depressing when you vividly remember some of the last Halo 2 games you played and you realize that...it's gone.

I loved every second of it. I don't consider any second of playing Halo a waste of time.

Playing Halo 4 will defintly have a diffrent feel to that of a Halo game made by Bungie, I know that much.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

The reign of King Herold ended in 2 BC. Meaning, that since Jesus was born under his rule, strictly historically speaking, he would have had to have been born in the year 3 BC.

Beginnings of eras are far more interesting than endings.

What happened in the year 3 BC? Anything? Off the top of your head?

No. Nothing. Of course not.

What happened in the year 1 AD? -blam!- Jesus was born.

I'm glad someone made this thread. We celebrated this with a Carnage yesterday, so I guess we can celebrate here on the forums in this thread.

BUNGIE, it's been a hell of a run. You made a great game, and a lot of people loved them all, even if a vocal minority may have said otherwise.

But without Halo, your a horse with a broken leg. And that means I'm gonna have to put you down. *Starts crying while slipping shells into shotgun.*

Kidding! Either way, you had a great run with Halo, and I can't wait to see what your gonna do with Destiny.

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

Everything changes and moves on, should be good to see what happens and where Bungie takes us next. Until then I think most of us will still have fun with this new Halo.

Well the era ended on July 7, 2011 for me. Bungie will forever hold the title of a great developer in my mind, and they gave me (and most of the Bungie community) a decade+ of great entertainment. Hopefully, this continues when the darkness clears.

anyone who's played more than you has no life

anyone who's played less than you is a noob

Goldeneye was awesome - but doesn't mean I'd go out and buy a new Goldeneye game, even if half the Rare staffers had made it.

Halo > Halo 2 > Halo 3. (Reach doesn't count - it was a pants COD copy)

The trend is only going one way, and that's nostalgia, baby.
