If the elites, grunts (and maybe hunters) fight with us, then there will definatly be a replacement for them. The brutes and jackels are way too strong for the start of the game...

so... what new classes of covenant can Bungie suddenly draw up. Use your imaginations.

Please do not mention the character in the documentry at 3:02.

Hated by many, confronted by none.

There should be Engineers in the game

No. They would be perfect. There are only three combate forms in the covenent so that would be balance. Jackles arnt strong. There anoing . Don't forget drones. Brutes are difecult but still. Strength for numbers.

do you want engineers to fight? cuz they are the most peaceful race ive ever (never) seen. when the chief encountered the engineers they repaired his suit !! they seem to just live to serve anything technological

maybe they could introduce the drinol but those creatures dont seem.........haloish

the prophets may have to fight, but we know they are few in number...........but with all those capital ships in the trailor, there should be thousands of warriors ready for the "great journey"........hmmmm

What are engineers going to do since they are as people have already said non-combative?

Yeah add the bulking drinol, bigger than the hunter now that is just awesome. Then there's the Juggernaut flood but were not talking about flood are we... oh well. Maybe like that race which is on the arbiter level when the Arbiter is attacking the heritic space station, you know that race that is as tall as a elite and has the same type of shield but also they have tenticle hands.

what the hell are the engineers? ive played halo1 adn 2 4 times and beaten it but dont noe what a engeneer or a juggernaut is!!!!

  • 06.30.2006 12:41 PM PDT

You could play them a hundred million times over, Brandonyaghobi, and still not know...

Engineers built everything for the Covenant. They are only in the books, and are entirely passive. They're only good for fixing things.

Juggernaughts were something never meant to see the light of day, and Flood were pretty bad as is. They would appear like a Carrier form on some sort of mutant gene rampage. Elite legs, Carrier form bulbous body, and a massive pair of tentacles twice its twelve-foot-tall height. And the tentacles each begin at two roots, suggesting they were once a total of four limbs. People have theorized this as a clue that the Juggernaught is an elite with an engineer on top.

Are you talking about the Heretic Elites?

they could probably introduce a whole new race that never wanted to fight against the humans but now are tricked into fighting along with the jackels and brutes. Something thatz cool but not interfere or damage the halo storyline.

I think they're gonna have a hard time fitting in another character smoothly into the storyline, I'm still confused about where the Brutes came from in Halo 2 and why they weren't in Halo 1 (story wise)

  • 06.30.2006 1:03 PM PDT

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of bubble gum.

I think at this point, it'd be kind of difficult to introduce an entire new race. I mean, look at it.

Halo 1. It was just you and some humans stuck on a ring in the middle of nowhere. The only Covenant there were those under the Arbiter. So when it came time to introduce new races, it was a lot simpler, because you hadn't really explored the universe yet.

But now that Halo 2 has come and gone, you've been everywhere. Hell, you've even played the Arbiter himself, a member of the Covenant. If Bungie could manage to introduce even 1 new race, I'd be hella surprised. They would literally have to come from the darkest bowels of existence.

well they did it in Halo2 but u guys do have a good point but itz bungie...they could proabably introduce a new race that fits in with the ending storyline....like a half breed of covenant and the flood or something. but a race that doesnt need alot of explination or background coverage. It just started to fight with the brutes and jackels becuz of this or that and boom...there is the explination. Something simple and easy and adds a new race of covenant.

I really like the whole huge drinol/sharquoi covenant idea, but I really dont like the current appearance of it. Like Iceman Assassin said, it just doesnt seem "haloish." It would be cool if they refined that idea a bit more.
