What will give someone "the edge" when applying at Bungie?
I've often heard about how those employed at Bungie have been accepted due in part to a portfolio of work they have submitted. However, for someone who has recently graduated straight out of University with little-to-no work experience/portfolio to show in a specific discipline, do they stand a chance against those who do?
It seems prudent to ask then whether "the edge" for a graduate applying at Bungie lies predominantly with work experience, education/qualification, or a mixture. I am at somewhat of a crossroads in this respect since I have recently completed my undergraduate degree in IT. So, although I have enrolled in an honours degree for next year, would it be more beneficial in regard to "the edge" for me to start a serious job to build a portfolio, or continue on with postgraduate study and graduate with a PhD (which I plan to to anyway)? Specifically in terms of higher degrees, and although it may seem obvious, will a higher degree more likely get me a foot in the door; will an applicant with a PhD be more desired than someone with an advanced diploma or master's degree?
