ILNI - Legit Nation. We're cool like that.

Remember the e3 demo for Halo 2? That level was awesome, plus it features a new battlerifle different from the finished Halo 2 version. Anyhoo, could that be a halo 3 level?

Also, if this topic has already been made, sorry.

it probably wont be, but my brother told me that h2 and h3 would be one game, but they had to separate them cause it would take 2 much space and the disc wouldnt hold all the info

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Well in the Halo3 trailer if you look in the distance right behind The Ark you can clearly see a City that looks rather simaler to that of the Halo 2 E3 2003 single player demo, it's possible that the mission (or a different version of it) could be in the game but right now it's just speculation!

No. But maybe bungie could make an expansion like then Multi. Map Pack with the demo mission in there maybe with some new stuff just to earn some extra cash and to keep the Halo Community bussy with somtin while they wait for Halo 3. It should be for xbox 360 as well as the Xbox.

Halo 3: Collapse
Chapter 20, Revelations, is up (update 11-14-10)
The Mirratord

Ω

I'd heard they had rejected that demo level because it was too glitchy.

I wish... but It could be in old mombas! It was cool. Like the cars that blow up more then once, I like the multipul mele attack, like distructible Phantoms. It was a cool demo, but theBR single shot was replaced by the carbine.

Doubt it, remember, New Mombasa was destroyed when Regrets ship made the junp to slipspace within the city.

They could potentially do the same level in a different city.

If you watch the halo 2 special edition disc, you'll see that they had to ditch it because the level wouldn't fit on the xbox - they'd been designing and running the demo for e3 on a debug kit that was slightly more powerful. When they returned from e3 thinking they had a whole level for the game, they were bitterly dissapointed. Sadly, they then only had 9 months to make the entire game, hence why it wasn't as good as it perhaps should have been.

I doubt it as a lot of the assests from that level were used in Halo 2 anyway.

Well, technically it featured an OLD battle rifle different from the finished one.. For a good reason, too.. The single shot just didn't work with game mechanics.

As for the level being in Halo 3? Maybe if it didn't take place in New Mombassa, something like it could come up.. But New Mombassa was destroyed, for the most part.

A huge, barren level, devoid of any features that is so huge that one pretty much has to use a vehicle, other wise it's just a long, boring slog? I had my fill of that on Outskirts, thank you very much.

(although, I would like to play the on-foot part of that demo...)

I can watch the demo anytime. Just buy the Special Edition Disc if you can find it and they'll explain why it wasn't in the finished Halo 2.

  • 06.30.2006 11:09 AM PDT

That level is suitable because it was too open and there were too many glitches with it.
It can't be in Halo 3, because New Mombasa's city was entirely destroyed when Regret's Flagship entered Slip Space. Which isn't suppoed to happen, and has only recordedly happened once in Halo history...
