All three pistols would be useless because you would have one strong one and too crappy ones.
Geza wants an ALL NEW pistol:


Its a forty-five, an Automatic pistol. The feeding ramp is polished to a mirror sheen, its not going to have any feeding problems.
The slides been reinforced, it meshes almost perfectly with the frame. The Frame itself has been iron-welded and scraped down multiple times for maximum percision. The front-strap part of the frame is checkered, it digs into the had for Zero-Slipping.
The sighting system is a three-dot type, giving it a superior target sighting capability. The hammer has been replaced with a ring hammer, that enhances the cocking control and hammer-down speed, the grid-safety is re-working to accomodate the ring hammer, too. The thumb safety and the slide are extended for more precise handling. The base of the trigger-guard is whittled down, so you can use a high-grip if needed, and the trigger itself is a longtype of easy finger access. The Trigger pull is about 3.5 pounds, thats about a pound and a quarter lighter than normal. The Magazine slot has been widened to make it easier to put a new Magazine in.
The Magazine catch button has been cut down low to make it harder to hit by mistake. The mainspring housing has been converted to a flat-type to increase grip, and its fitted with a stepping recoil to prevent slipping from the recoil when firing. Also added are cocking serrations from the front part-of-the-side, that lets you load and eject cartrages fast.

i think the pistol shuld have a scope[ when holding only one ] 4 [heads shots] takes out sheild and one shot to teh head = d34d. 8 or 10 bullets in one thingy. longer range = less damage and/or accuracy.



(2 guns at one time shuld be more un accurate) = more balance.

yeah ur right the BR is just the Halo CE pistol reskinned and made so that it took 4 shots to kill instead of 3 so ur idea for the halo 3 pistol IS the halo 2 BR

Heres my vision of what halo 3's pistol should be like:

Simple: Combine the first and second pistols into a new gun.. thats right, ya heard me...

How you ask? simple... it will look like the M6D from halo 1, complete with a scope that can only be used when single wielding it.

It'll have the same power as the magum, so approx 6 shots to knock sheidling down fully and then a one head shot kill / 2- 4 shots to torso to kill. You can still duel-wield it like in halo 2, but no scoping when duel- wielding.

I also believe bungie should reduce the amount of ammo you can carry at any one time for the pistol as well as the rounds per clip, thereby increasing reloads. Since human weapons and ammo are rare, this will force players to be less reliant upon the pistol while increasing the variety of weapons that players must use. It'll also allow bungie to keep things that made the pistol great, like headshot kills when your oppnents shields are knocked out.

Sounds like a mini Carbine, although you didn't say what it's range would be. Same as the Magnum?

while zoomed (2-3x) its close-mid range and without zoom is close range.

No, that was posted for people that want just the original Halo 1 pistol to be back in Halo 3. This is a thread for people that want to discuss what they think a new pistol would be like in Halo 3.

I'm hoping they'll get rid of duel wielding. All the weapons had to be weakend by half...and we lost some fun things like plasma freeze effects. Seems to much was lost for a novelty that had already been done before.

Novelty LMAO.... we're talking about realism here... in real life, you'd be able to hold two pistols, or two needlres or two BR's (if they really exist) and go nuts to try and stay alive.

They could still bring back the plasma freeze while keeping duel-wielding around, but the plasma freeze really isn't that great... all it did was slow down the gameplay. if they bring back the freeze, I think they should tone it down signifigantly compared to how it was in halo 1

You want realism? Go play a Tom Clancy game. Shields are not real, warps are not real, gravity jump pads are not real. I'm looking for a fun game, not a realistic one. Why does everyone want all the weapons toned down anyway? Your the first person I've ever heard saying the plasma weapons in Halo CE needs to be toned down. Others want the rocket launcher toned down. And yet others want the old pistol toned down. Do you want a 1vs1 one hour battle?

Halo's a "futuristic" realism game aka Combat:Evolved (evolved 500 years in the future) Secondly, give me one good reason I shouldn't be able to hold two pistols. It just doesn't make sense for a super-soldier to not be able to handle two pistols, not matter what they're strength

As for plasma weapons, i said I wanted the freeze effect (from the xbox and halo PC versions) toned down,,, not the power of the weapon, but the amount of time it freezes you (make it 1/4 of a second in comparision to 1/2).


And if you ask most anyone, halo 2 was hella fun with duel-wielding and no freeze. I hope the evolution continues...
