...Oh, I'm sorry, I was just busy thinking about something more important.

That's really something to get excited about.

Rules are an illegal substance in bizzaro-world, so someone ban OPR!

Per Audacia Ad Astra

What determines the state of something illegal not being discussed?
Is it down to the laws of the state in which Bungie Studios resides?

Make no mistake - you do NOT have freedom of speech on our website. You do have the freedom to go elsewhere.

By that same logic Halo 4 is a Halo game for Xbox and people play it, what's to talk about?

Will have to agree this isn't cool, even though Bungie does reside in one of the states that it passed in. I'm hoping they tex the -blam!- out of it, im not looking foward to smelling that crap.

Pretty much this.

And just because it's legal in a couple states doesn't mean that it's up for overall discussion. Individual states =/= the world.

  • 11.07.2012 7:58 AM PDT

Did you known that in America, there are no laws against cannibalism? Does that mean we can talk about it?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

It's not legal everywhere. Until we're given clear direction otherwise, that topic is still off limits.

Are you really comparing the two? This is why ninjas are given authority to interpret the spirit of the rules.

I was joking, lol.

I really think that discussion of this nature is not appropriate for Bungie.net as it is a site dedicated to a gaming community.

Something needs to be legal in every country in the world to be admissible for discussion here?

Think more about that.

Right. And even though alcohol is legal...everywhere, you don't see thread after thread about it. Even if it were suddenly legal everywhere, I have better things to talk about...here at least. See what I did there?

Is this really the kind of topics I have to look forward to when coming to this site? Some brat trying to get cocky over weed?

That's the only discussion value on the subject?

If something need be legal the world over to be discussed here, we might as well shut the forums down now and be done with it.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

*looks at head of a pin*

Nope, no dancing angels. Must be the wrong pin.

You guys are funny, twisting yourselves all up in literal, figurative, and hypothetical interpretations of specific statements and their semantics in order to try to predict what "will or won't" result in issues.

*shrug* Carry on, have fun, but be advised that no matter how immensely logical or undeniable you consider your argument, you are ignoring the reality.

The part of the "what works here and what doesn't" equation that members DO have a say in is the report function. Nothing more and no less than that. The enforcement of the ToU, CoC, Forum Rules and what constitutes "in or out" are the role of the individual ninja (yes, and as a result, we are both subjective and inconsistent. lrn2adapt), under the authority given to them by our hosts. Not a single thing about THAT structure and code has changed.

But since it is clearly enjoyable exercise, please feel free to speculate about how you think that things "should work". We'll continue dealing with reports, and enforcing the models of behavior that we consider to be the desires and expectations of our hosts.

Locking a thread when it's directly in the context of Colorado, Washington, California, etc. and their respective laws or lack thereof in respect to marijuana use is stupid, IMO. It's not illegal there, and therefore is literally and objectively within the bounds of the rule.

I've come to the realization that given time and not that many people, there are almost certainly going to be people who will end up debating and arguing over the positive/negative aspects of a sunny day and why they are either in favor of, against, or somehow think that they should be in control of the weather and are pissed that they weren't consulted regarding it.

Sure, most people understand that they have no say in the weather and try to enjoy nice days when they have the opportunity. But some folks? They'll want to debate. Which appears to be their source of enjoyment. Fair enough.

Angels on pinheads. *shrug*
