Don't know if anyone's read/ heard about this, but in Japan (full respect for this) they've developed a powered exo-skeleton to enhance someone's strength. At the moment it's just a load of wire, steel tubing and fibre bundles, but once the American cowboy engineers buy a set and bolt on a load of Kevlar and steel, and an orange/gold visor, HEY-HEY! Real-life MJOLNIR! The guys who made it say it's intended for assisting care-workers in lifting disabled people into and out of chairs/baths, that kind of thing (noble task), but, seriously, how long before western military boffins turn it into power armour? Pretty cool, huh?

By the way, i read about this about a year ago, so i don't know if there've been any developments. Does anyone know anything else about this?

Ok, try this link, i'll have a look for some more. This is an american project, but it sounds similar. C LICK HERE

Why have something that can multiply your strength by God awful amounts to carry -blam!-, when you could just use a damn vehicle? Maybe their hiding something, or maybe I should read the whole article. =)

Vehicles make for nice, big targets that beg to be shot. If this technology could be perfected, it could improve our soldiers' chances of surviving on the battle field and allow them to function more efficiently in combat.

I'd like to point out that motion in those suitsw are very limited. I dare you to try running. They are not really anything special. And there is no shield. Kevlar prolongs your life, not saves it.

Like I said, I didn't read the entire article. I just read a sentence or two. Vehicles would be able to move faster anyway. Although a single human is a much smaller target to hit, I don't think it would make much difference. The vehicle could take quite a few more shots than any human could.

The US is experimenting with the same concept. Body armor made with kevlar, enviornment changing camo, and increasing a solider's strenght ten fold, the project is called "Soldier 2020".

But what if you added armor plating and a jet-pack (like a HARDsuit for example)?
