Exactly and anyone who refers to the Sniper Rifle as the Snipers Rifle, obviously istn a hardcore gamer so you know, I think Nylund probably had experianced the games as a fan and thus was able to enjoy it a bit more.

But heres a question why did Dietz right The Flood? why didnt Nylund do it? was he busy?

Also, keep in mind, no matter how much he could have spiced up The Flood, the pictures in your head could never even come close to the actual game. But for the record, I liked Fall of Reach more, but First Strike was the best. And while I did notice some inconsistencies, in Nylund's, such as dates and descriptions of things, I still find his style to be a lot more intense. I'll look beyond the errors, and I still enjoyed Nylund's books more.

Most of the "errors" you found are completely intentional. Such as the number of Spartans "inconsistency" in TFS. It was done intentionally, because they knew that it would be overlooked by most, but could lead to a major side story development. I personally like Nylund's writing style better, and im glad he's making the next Halo Novel.

Dietz is so terrible in how he handles the MC's character that it almost makes me wince; it's that bad. "I wish I knew you Sarge, you must have been one hardcore son-of-a-[slang for female canine]". I'm amazed Bungie actually let him abuse the character like that.

Nylund not only describes the characters in a way that makes them feel perfect extensions of their game counterparts (Cortana acts like Cortana, The Chief speaks concisely and when needed, as he does in Halo). And the world he describes is much more immersive due to the description of the technology. Not to mention his action sequences are much more entertaining and well written. Again, Dietz manages to make these things a bland affair. "This was followed up by x rounds from an assault rifle and it was over".

I could go on, but other than some mistakes in Nylund's books, they're very very well written, and feel as if they belong in the Halo universe. "The Flood" just doesn't fit.

Congratulations, you just put quotations on something that is in no way a direct quote. I dont recall reading This was followed up by x rounds from an assault rifle and it was over. in ANY part of The Flood.
