Should the hidden race of covenant protrayed in the books be introduced into the next game?
It would be cool if engineers were introduced, but what would they do?! Would they just float around, and wait to get killed? That'd be stupid
...And so the hero crawled through the fissure on the surface of Tyr. There, the lone Dwarf stared into the cold, dark eyes of Soulblighter...The fiend hefted his blade over his shoulder as a flock of raven took upon his form...-TBG-
Mabey but i dont think they could really fight tho, they look like more of Flood than Covenant to me.
getting somebody running around fixing vehicles is a bad idea as it would totally unbalance the campaign
I am...whimsical today.
They could possibly be introduced if battle damage was introduced too. They could also be mission objectives, or even just scenary like the plants. They could float around Covenant ships, or work at terminals.
Yeah, they better not be crap like the drones and brutes were :/
It would be awsome to have them... If you need something repaired you could just give it to them. Or on a mission you could take one with you and make it fix a fusion reactor while you fight wave after wave of covies....
Yeah i thought so too, it would be interesting aswell because we know so little about them, its not like they would necsaarily ruin the story if they were introduced well

Yes. You should have to deal with them working for both sides:Scenario One: You need to kill them because they're fixing/constructing something the Covenant needsScenario Two: You need to defend them because you need them to fix something for youScenario Three: They cost you the element of surprise because they let loose a high-pitched wail when you approach something of Forerunner design.
There really isnt any place for them in any level. I think they would be a great addition to the cutscenes to give depth to Covie scenery. They woud maybe, maybe be good in one section of a level just so you can walk around them, have a good look, and bash their heads in.Other than that, it just does not make sense.[Edited on 6/30/2006]

That would totally own if Engineers were introduced... especially if they showed the engineers in the game disassembling a car and putting it back together.... that was pretty eerie to read... and im sure it would look creepy...
I'm guessing engineers will be in to assist in at least one level.
^It would make sense if they did this.... especially if theres a chance we might play as Arbiter again.... thats one way I could see the Engineers playing a role
They should only be introduced if you play a level in a capital ship that is in like a fleet. But I dont think they will have a level like that. They would add environment to that level and make it feel like a "active" ship. (like walking into the bridge and come across about 7 different ranked elites that are confused as to why the hell you are there.) But the engineers wouldnt do much... basically only run away or something like that.
