Twelve Large ²

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

It was on the Forerunner ship, not High Charity. My Guess is that the Forerunner ship is really a Jjaro dreadnought called Manus Celer Dei

This would mean that the AI aboard it would be...

Give me a D...

That wasn't the ship she called boomer! Was it? Cause Boomer don't look like no Triangle Tripod thingy.

Ah.. Nevermind.

When my ship still answered to the Pfhor, they called it Sfiera after their goddess of lightning and passion. When you helped us take control on Tau Ceti, the S'pht rechristened it Narhl'Lar, "Freedom and Vengeance".

I call it Boomer.

Wow I just signed on this morning and saw alll these posts! Very interesting idea! I liked the one about déjá< cant do the right way round, but the fact is it says she is with dr hasley in the books im afraid, I was thinking about this last night after I played that level and I wondered why it picked that particular room for Cortana to say it?
Maybe it has significance.. not sure, probably just looking to deeply into when she said it, needto thnik about why.
Maybe the formidable construct plays for no side, or it could jsut be an anomolous AI that was copied or corrupted? Im not sure, I like the idea that gravemind could somehow acess the network himself, it would explain why he spread so quickly throughout high charity.

Maybe Durandal.
Or possibly Beowulf, the Cortana letters may be hinting at that. ONI is quite mysterious...

I, personally, don't understand what she means by "formidable". I mean, according to dictionary.com "formidable" means: Arousing fear, dread, or alarm: i.e. The formidable prospect of major surgery.

Before I thought she meant that the Covenant Construct could be easily accesible and manipulated. As if Cortana could easily hack into it and gather more information etc. I don't get how a Covenant Construct can be "feared" or "dreaded". Especially by an A.I.

Depends on what it knows i guess, if it knew a great deal more than cortana it would be pretty formidable to her ego

anyone actually thought about the fact that it may seem formiddable to cortana because she hasbecome..how shall i say it..."weaker". Could it be a one off bespoken covenant AI? i mean knowing that the ship's reactor last forever, maybe the technology inside the ship allows an AI to harness other parts of the ship, for instance maybe the ship has better encryption devices and can actually divert a vast amount of power to the AI, almost actining as a super cool utility belt for an AI?

Evil Angels
CHROMEHOUNDS
1/6/2010- A day that will live on in infamy.

The Man in Black fled across the desert, the Gunslinger followed.

In the books it did indeed say somthing about a covenant ai. She almost cpatured it twice and caught it a third time(i think) and it would yell and call her " Infidel ".When she was deleteing it,it said something along the lines of "Do what you will-I go to my destiny-(something)-resting place."

Also when we was trying to capture it she atmitted it was tought and hard to catch.

My point here I guess is that it could be the same AI,or a different AI from the covenant.

I respect your opinion, I'm probably just going to disagree with it.

If something is formidable, it means something is very tough. The fact that the AI is formidable means that it isnt as easily laid down as most AI's are by Cortana. It's a toughie, if you get what I mean. It isn't a crap one, like most covenant AI are like compared to Cortana, which leads to suggest it could be forerunner, as it is evidently more advanced than covenant stuff that Cortana has already faced.

It may be the same AI. The Covenant AI had many errors due to the replication process. The Original covie AI would not have those errors and could be very formidable.

Lol I hate Cortana, she always says the randomest things that probably have no significance what so ever, but it makes you wonder..
"a Presence...Fighting back." What could that mean..

well if its a forrunner Ai possibly maybe its another globe like 303 they can link into the network wirelessly and they do seem pretty powerfull over there domains let alone no everything about there forerunner tech. alos there programed to make sure the halos activate apoun flood release so if so it would be trying everytihng possible to get that baby up and running right? thats just my idea

Gravemind most likely, as he knew of Cortana's presence (hence the end movie). But it could be a Forerunner or Covie AI.

If it was Duranal tho... I'd cry with happiness. He rocks.

i really need to finish marathon to figure out as much as i can about Durandal

  • 07.01.2006 2:05 PM PDT

I go by many names, Shinigami, osiris, thanatos, Ares are but a few. But my name is not important for i am god and i am coming for you.

i am a master of my trade with these two hands i create great works. What is it i do?? ... well lets hope for your sake you never find out.

Like guns?? so do we, join Halo Armory and you can too

i doupt it would be a human AI as cortana is a "smart A.I" with the added benefits of ONI's software which was given to her for her purpse, other human ai's are built around a single purpose and other smart ai's im guessing could be easily defeated by cortana, so i think that it is more likely some kind of forerunner ship a.i as they have already shown that even guilty spark is a pretty formidible a.i (for a lightbulb anyway)

Why can't the covvvies be smart anough to make their own AI?
