Most of all, it was my favorite halo for custom games. There were some good gametypes that never made it into MM. One for example was MLG Multiteam. It was 2v2v2v2 on MLG The Pit with MLG Settings. It didn't need its own playlist, but I really wish they had some MLG gametypes in the mix of current playlists like multiteam and rumble pit.
Sandbox was my favorite forge map. Forge world and new forge are much better with objects, but I miss the flat open areas that Sandbox had. Also, it was better to look at golden rocks then grey.
Also, no other halo had the plethora of shortcuts and tactical jumps. Guardian and Ghost Town were filled with jumps. Also, I enjoyed HLG on occasion and maps like Epitaph, High Ground, and Construct were best for this.
Also, powerups. I miss em. It was better before Camo was an AA.

Sandbox was great for Forge, still my favorite Forge map ever. The jumps were awesome, and, like you said, powerups were so much better than AAs. I don't understand why they were removed. I feel like there won't ever be another Halo game that's quite as good as Halo 3. The customs, physics, Forge, theater......about as close to perfect as it's likely to be.
