Subject: Halo 4 forge is a disappointment

I honestly don't know where to start on this. There is so much that you can't do anymore.

The only thing it's really lacking is terrain. Otherwise, it's an improvement despite its glitches.

The "Forge maps" are a bit lacking, and the magnets are nice if you're forging on flat ground, but if you aren't, they're a pain in the ass.

Then you just disable the magnets when you don't need them.

This must mean you don't like Halo: Reach's forge either?

I can only criticize that there are no really good maps to forge on... otherwise it's an improvement in every point.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

I know you can't even phase objects through the ground or caves.

Why should I have to disable magnets just to put something slightly underground then re-enable again?

And I loved Reach's forge.

A7x FoREVer!

I thought they added a lot more... With all the new gametypes and trigger effects the possibilities seem to be almost endless.

Yeah!, how dare they remove the gigantic grey and green filled map that no one loves.

Approximate! Basically it is a DLC lure, they release a somewhat bigger map for forging in a map pack and sell it with two other sort of cool maps for $10, then they release another map pack with an even bigger map with two other maps for $10, and so on. They are getting extra money this way.

There's also the magnet intensity. What you're complaining about is just stupid.

Ya you can. You have to let go of the object and use coordinates. It's tedious but it's doable.

So you'd rather they just gave us a giant map from the start and then forget about forge in the DLCs?, i wonder how that would turn out.................

Would you rather get your money milked by 343? Honestly they should have ONE big forge map and then add some even bigger ones with special features or something.

Yeah, custom games have taken a hit.

Your 'beliefs' mean less than dick to me.

I'm disappointed at the lack of variety in objects. Ravine should have forerunner stuff, and Erosion (or some other 3rd map) should have had covenant objects.

But we both know that's never going to happen. At least this way we get continued support for forge, instead of having one map, and one half assed attempt at a forge map with no room for forging, a reduced budget, and 3 new forge items.

  • 11.09.2012 4:02 PM PDT

The forge looks like it was done very lazily.

Example:

I was scrolling through the pallet when I see:

>Wall, Coliseum
>Window, Coliseum

The Coliseum was a section of Forge world and those items in Reach actually corresponded to it.

It seriously just shows they looked at Reach and pretty much took stuff and re-skinned it.
