It was, it simply was. Everything was amazing.

The story was good, no matter what some reviews might say. The story was good. Improvements here and there maybe, but that doesn't dent my opinion of Halo 4 being perfection.

The infamous Warthog run was replaced with a "Pelican run", not only have I just learned to fly a Pelican because it was only introduced (without glitches), but it was even better than a Warthog run.

And now finally, the ending...

I don't doubt that many people would have cried, for it was so compassionate. It is actually undescribable. Only those who have seen it will know what I mean, there isn't may words for it because it is so sad. Cortana, I miss you. I miss you so much. That scene alone, was filled with so much love it doesn't even compare to -blam!- like the whole Twilight series.

Halo 5, I will wait for you. I don't care how long. I will wait.

No it wasn't. It doesn't explain ANYTHING. Like why Ur-Didact is an -blam!- or why the covie's are in the game.

You can say go read the books (And I have read every single halo book at least three times.) but for the normal Halo player, having to pay 80$ for four books is kinda stupid when you already have to buy a 60$ game.

Also I fund the ending to contain way too much drama. I was waiting for a recap of everything about John and Cortana have been through while you see the S-IV's crying and sad music playing.

1) The Didact's reasons and motivations are explored in the Terminals, and have been at the forefront of an entire novel...

2) Again, the Covenant's reformation is at the forefront of an entire novel as well.

What you fail to understand is that, at long last, Halo's story isn't being dumbed down. It is a complete, cohesive and consistent universe now within the new fiction. While yes, new players are likely going to be confused, that's their fault for buying a game with a 4 on the front. Players who don't pay much attention to the story outside the games are going to be scratching their heads a bit, but that's because they have segregated themselves from the fact that Halo is a universe.

Over 100,000 years of history cannot be explored in a game without abnormal chunks of exposition. Yes it could have been handled a bit better, but no it shouldn't have to largely cater to people who pay no attention to Halo's story as a whole.

Hey there awj. The point I was makin gis that yes they can't explain everything but they just throw you in to middle of a new war and tell you nothing. I know whats going on since I read anything that has to do with Halo. But I was playing with three friends that have been playing since 2 and they had no -blam!-en clue what the hell was going on.

Yes for those who know everything about Halo it was a good game. But to your normal player who is just that a player, they won't understand anything.

Hello, Dhester Cuncan. ;)

I'd imagine that your friends who had played since 2 wouldn't have had much of an idea of what was going on when they played Halo 2 either then, since they had not played the first game - they're thrust into some gobbledy-blam!- scene where some alien is on trial for failing to protect some giant ringworld and a generic space marine is getting his next set of armour.

In fact, I might also say the same thing about Halo CE. You're thrown into the middle of a war we know noting about - aliens are killing humans for reasons we don't know (in Halo 4, the Didact is killing humans for reasons which are explained), there's some space marine who is super powerful for some reason and they've fled some place called Reach which is only mentioned once. These things wouldn't be understood without having read Halo: The Fall of Reach because they're given no exposition at all.

The 'normal player' would have to have the sense to take a look at the Terminals on Waypoint, which they can do for free rather than spend money on books, as there is a ton of exposition given on things like Ancient Humanity, the Librarian's plan, the Didact's motives, the Composer and other things.

So, not perfection then.

Halo 4 is a great game, but far from perfection... Perfection is something that can only be viewed in hindsight. Halo CE was a classic- the fact that halo CEA was released and was still fun to play is a testament to this.
Will halo 4 be viewed as a classic? i think not.

Many gave their lives so that we could live on. I intend to honor them by remembering them. Remember Cyborg. Remember John. Remember Noble.

I like how they need the books to make it interesting.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

lol me and you played different games buddy.

Story was pretty crap as well, she said that to me once.

Halo 4 is a good game, 343i have certainly outdone themselves with the multiplayer and Spartan Ops. The cinematics in the campaign were mind blowing and the score, even though it didn't have Marty, is really good. I love the menu music.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

It wasn't absolute perfection, but it is very good.

Wake me when the jews are gone.

Definetly not perfection, but finally we get a Halo campaing that is not generic and dumbed down storywise.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

There wasn't a Pelican run...... There was shameless Death Star trench run ripoff and a level that you fly a Pelican for no apparent reason but no Pelican run.......

Expressing my strong liberal views without shame. Favorite quotes below:

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."
"One starts to live when he can live outside himself."

The campaign was fairly good in terms of the story, but in terms of gameplay, it was kind of a grind.

The infamous Warthog run was replaced with a "Pelican run",

Actually replaced by broadsword run. The Pelican part was akin to Long Night of Solace or New Alexandria from Reach.

The books certainly help drive the points home and lay things out in more detail, but they aren't necessary at all as both of those things are explained in the game. Right away Chief asks about the peace treaty with the Covenant, and there is plenty of exposition on the Didact's actions if you listen to what characters the characters are saying.
