Here are some of the things that we can assume will be in Halo 3. (By assume I mean, looking back at Halo 1 & 2, & looking at all the stuff that got left on the cutting room floor, & the things that we have asked for since the release of H1.)
The AR ( Frankie basically said it has a upgrade??? Nade Launcher???)
Secondary functions don't fit into the Halo universe. I'm guessing it just has a range, accuracy and damage boost
Pilot large spacecraft (Pelican, Phantom ect)
Probably
The Mongoose (ATV)
They said it wasn't fun, and it didn't really fit into the Halo universe that well because they couldn't find spots to use it in. Possibly, though probably not.
The H1 Pistol
No idea
The Flamethrower
Most likely no.
Drive Shadows (Covie Bus thing)
I wouldn't be surprised. If they are still in halo 3, its very likely
Multiple versions of the Warthog (as seen prior to H2s release)
If the environments fit it, then maybe.
A Sprint feature (put guns away b/c your sprinting, see you arms moving in First Person. This feature was rumored to be in H2 prior to it's release)This would rock. Speeding up the time it takes to walk across Coagulation would rock. This would be great, though some might call it cheap when you are one shot away from killing someone and they sprint to cover. Still, I want this one in.
The "Old/Original version" of Burial Mounds ( It was removed from H2, when the ATV was. In a past Weekly Update, Frankie hinted at this) Hopefully, sounds likely. Burial Mounds is an awesome map. Seeing a different layout of it inHalo 3 would be nice. I'm also guessing Burial Mounds was inspired by the desert wasteland and ship graveyards that we'll probably see in Halo 3 (a good example of this would be the trailer). What is now Halo 3 was supposed to originally be in halo 2, so I'm guessing even though that got cut, the map based off those environments didn't. So seeing a map based off Halo 3's environments is extremely likely.
The Inclusion of the "DRINOL BEAST" ( It was in a past Bungie game we all know & love. It was also seen in a deleted cutscene in H2.) A huge angry convenant is always cool
The Fuel-Rod Gun in MP ( Needs to have two shots in each clip instead of 6, & reload slower)
Likely, if it is balanced right.
More Classic maps brought back to life ( This was done 6 times for Halo 2, so naturally we can expect the same for H3)Classic maps are always nice to have.
The Banshees' Fuel Rod Cannon ( Needs to have at least a 4-10 sec pause between each shot)
Though very fun to use, this would be waaaaay too overpowering in multiplayer
The return of the "Night Vision on the Sniper Rifle" (Bungie could make a few dark areas or maps w/ such areas, so the night-vision would be useful again.) Why not. If they let use change the weather and lighting then this could make some very cool custom gametypes. Imagine Manhunt over Live.
The Flashlight makes it return to MP ( Picture a night map, w/ dark bases. The Flashlight would thus be needed again.)Yes. They should make it so that when you speak, your entire team hears it, no matter what you are holding down.
Passenger seats on the Scorpian Tank in MP
Yes
Melee Combos (As seen in the first H2 Gameplay trailer @ E3 )
Hell Yes.
Thats about all the stuff I can think of right now. *All the above features were in a Halo game at some point & time, thus making their reappearance in H3 likely* I mean H3 is the end all be all, so hopefully the above stuff makes it in H3. It would be the iceing on the cake for us Halo lovers. If I forgot any past/removed feature(s) from H1, H2, & Halo PC then please feel free to add em'.-Peace
