Why do people care if their browsing history is recorded by some one else? What are you doing on the internet you want it a secret?

So would you think it would be okay if a government car followed you everywhere you drive or planted cameras/bugs in your house?

You have a right to privacy which encompasses the right to be free from surveillance.

But all google does is sell info to advertising companies, usually this is done anonymously. If it is really an issue, don't make an account when using google or chrome.

I only use Google when I need to.

I un-downloaded Chrome a while ago, and only re-downloaded it so I wouldn't have to keep on signing out and signing back in on Bungie.net (and that way I got coup). For everything else I use IE.

Achronos is old. He doesn't understand that Chrome is actually better. He believes that Internet Explorer is actually superior. He is completely wrong, Internet Explorer is heavily flawed. I bet he's only saying this stuff because of his job and he probably gets an extra amount of money in his paycheck if he advertises a Microsoft product. That or he's old.

Chrome actually allows me to do many things that I couldn't do with any other browser. I also have been using YouTube since 2010. While I'm not a big fan of Google, I can't complain. They're products aren't bad. I lost a lot of respect when Achronos said that Coup is garbage and he's going to do whatever he can to destroy it in the next update.

So I honestly don't care what he thinks. He's old.

Do you like Green Eggs and Ham???

I thought Chrome was fast, but Flash always crashed on me so I switched back to Firefox.

I would use IE9 but I can't block ads.

Seriously, people. XBL, Facebook, and phone services have zero-privacy, and I don't see anyone complaining about that.

Its legal for the government to do those things though, regardless if you like it or not, Which sucks

No it is not, know your rights.

You have a right to privacy which the government or corporations can't exploit.

Unless the government has probable cause to invade your privacy, they can't normally without a warrant.

The right to privacy is a right from surveillance and a right to be in control of personal information regarding yourself. Sometimes you give consent when you agree to a terms of service but there are opt-out features in most web browsers for example.

This thing called the patriot act gives the government a blank check to do what it wants.

I am aware but that is mainly focused on monitoring people who are suspected of terrorist activities, not usually the typical american.

Regardless, the right to privacy is in the constitution.

I keep telling myself to switch from Chrome but the other browsers suck.

Wrong.

I have firefox. Too slow, too much crap up top (toolbars I never use), the URL bars are too cluttered, etc.

Yeah if they suspect you are a terrorist.
They don't need reasoning, they can just accuse you of something false
