Subject: Anyone else find the Halo 4 campaign boring?

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Nope.

Or do you mean like fighting the covenant and prometheans? Of course it's boring, it's AI, there is no way to make it exciting.

I personally play FPS campaigns just for story, assuming they're interesting.

I've clocked over 300 hours of BF3 but haven't finished campaign.

The campaign was kinda short. You only get to know the Didact for 5 seconds before actually killing him. They shouldn't make the chief talk too much in this game.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

^I'll tell ya why it's meh.

Everything felt forced.

You get Chief talking, which is a nice change IMO. But his dialogue is crap. There's no badass quotes just self-pity. 'She said that to me once' The whole, I can't do this without you shiz. He's become too clingy to Cortana. It just feels off.

Cortana became so much more cringe. Granted this could be done to add to the whole 'I'm rampant' story, The whole don't make a promise line was used in previous Halo's, it's overused and contrived in H4, we get more of the same just more boring. She only malfunctions when you need her to do something but generally she's fine throughout. Except the beginning and end. Because it was just shoved in that way.

I was more WTF with Didacts appearance, that they revealed a forerunner. Than, OMG this guy is bad and we got to save the galaxy peoples! It took me away from the immersion and was like "Really? this is what 343i made them do, Vampire alien. LOL"

He throws the cheif away on numourous occasions when he has him in control.

NO SUSPENSE. Huurrr duurrr. Yeah I know cheif ain't gonna die but the majority of people are just gonna overlook the classic villain throws away golden moment scene. Typical of terrible stories.

At least in Batman they gave a reason when Bain did it. To make him suffer. But the Chief, it was like, 'thank you...come again' just no reason. I'mma just force choke you till the canon white blood cells attack me.

And lol with the forced Lasky scenes. I loved how they put him in the game and had that dynamic with the series. But it was executed so poorly in the game. It was like i've turned into a character with a story halo fans know, to a shoved in 'I'm IMPORTANT kissass becuz you know me.'

And del rio. It would have been a lot more interesting in the start if Del Rio was actually a character with conviction. BUT NO they make him a weasel that everybody hates just to hate.
This is what you call a filler character and adds nothing except unnecessary drama. Unless you actually have a good story to tell. WHICH for Halo 4 I think not.

The only thing interesting about Halo 4's story is the terminals and even that's quite funny. It turned into something worth speculating about to something typical of Sci-Fi.

Halo had its own Universe, obviously borrowed and created with other-sci fi's in mind. But now it's clearly a fan-fiction for those writers who watched too much StarGate and played too much Mass Fffect.

I crack up, whenever I read people thinking that this is such a deep universe now. It's only 'deep' due to one person and that's Greg Bear. The rest is a PoS.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was thinking as well but couldn't put it in my owns words lol

On Waypoint I'm rocketFox;

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

I found it very boring...... Objectives were bland and mostly consisted of flipping switches, combat was bland due to a lack of variety or interesting situations, and no mind-blowing set-pieces like Scarab battles or drop-pod insertions.

Rio is without a doubt the worst Halo character ever created. His line "What I want to know is... where the hell did those things come from?" was just the worst dialogue. As a Captain of a state-of-the-art human ship inside a mysterious and colossal dyson sphere made by near-omnipotent aliens he's suddenly surprised to find something new. THEY CAME FROM THE GIANT ALIEN PLANET YOU CREATIVE WRITING VACUUM.

Crushingly bad Campaign with an interesting story bogged down by terrible dialogue and non-sensical plot elements. The QTEs didn't help much either, and I'll now say something I never ever thought I'd say; I prefer Halo 2 boss battles.

In the way of part of the new Germany was Poland so Hitler and Stalin took it over so Germany could grow.

What.

The first time I played through it, it was my favorite Halo campaign due to the story, but I was still disappointed by the gameplay.

Since then, I've played it a lot more, and I've grown to love it. The levels are a lot more unique than I first thought, there are a lot more exciting encounters than I initially thought, and some parts (like the Broadsword part, and at the end with Arrival playing) are some my favorite moments in gaming now.

Just my opinion, but eh.

4 hours? That's what happens when you play on Easy.

I did it on normal lol, but even all the other Halo games I played took longer than 4 hours on normal. Will be doing Legendary solo once my 2 week gold trial is over lol

Halo 2 made me never want to pick normal again 'cause it was over so quickly.

I know what you mean by "anticlimatic". The story was okay, I guess, it just feels like they accomplished practically nothing.

Hey, uh, if you like vs threads, then check out this little group right here, if you have the time. It's pretty fun, just hop right in.

Love playing custom games?

Well come join Customs Evolved

We are group dedicated to playing custom games, map testing, game nights, etc. Anyone is welcomed to join, and we hope to have as much fun as possible!

The campaign was okay, at least (in my opinion) better than Reach's campaign. Though the multiplayer sucks, might as well call it Halo Duty. The Spartan Ops are fun to play with friends but alone it's very boring.

Sure I'll continue to play all the Halo games, but I won't be looking forward to them or pre-ordering them anymore.

The quality of the story line is just not cutting it anymore.
