I thought Bungie checked to see if you we're doing something wrong. (Thats what I meant for my last forum post.) :-)

Can Bungie Detect Bridgers?

Cuz I love reading Waaaaambulance E-mails and some say they didnt know they were cheating or they mate did it.

but i never read anything saying about i never bridged, The player in my party did or i got matched up with bridgers why did you bann me.

So can Bungie Acctually detect them?

Um...I really don't know. I just thought that if you we're modding or doing wierd stuff with connections like bridging or standbying and people reported you enough times that Bungie would monitor your games that you play so they would see if you're cheating or not. But maybe Bungie changed their way on how they ban people. Honestly, I really don't know though.

P.S. I think Bungie should come out with another set of maps for Halo 2 before Halo 3 comes out. That would be cool. :-)

man thats unlucky. i never had that happen to me.

bungie actually checks if you did something wrong before banning i thought. atleast it wouldnt be permanant

Flukey, I have not been Banned yet for negative feedback, I never said I was.(but i know someone who was) All I'm saying is that it will build up and is very possible to get a ban from it. And yes, It is reviewed (supposadly) before you get Banned. Bungie says " the feedback system is the most effective way to report someone, and it works". I just don't like to see these kids get in the spotlight all the time on Bungie.net. they get way too much attention and then made famous on Bungies website...and that's what these kids want. I don't see Bungie Posting my collection of Over 50 halo figures, including Lightable Cortana (only 2,000 made) and Active Cammo MC with Sniper and AR (only 5,000 Made) and an almost Finished Classic Scale Model of "Blood Gulch" with all the weapons vehicles....etc. on the map using many of the Opened Vehicles and Action Figures (mostly the small figures) It's hard to believe, but The Model is Scaled to fit these Figures and when It's done, I plan to post it On the web. this is extremely hard to do and has taken an awefull long time. I guess sometimes It's depressing to see that Bungie is banning players, yet they Cannot stop it, and then make these kids Famous. I know their names are held back for obvious reasons, but these kids are very much aware of what they wrote Bungie and when they get their letter posted on the front page, i think It's like opening a can of worms if ya know what I mean. Once again, thanks for your concern.

BtW- I want to point out that I consider Quitting the most Unsportsmanship like conduct, next to cheating. I think Bungie has expressed this also. It breaks my heart everytime I quit a game, and for this I appoligize, but I will not allow these kids to have their fun at my expense. No matter what the consequences are.

Thank you for banning these cheaters. The chatter on the site is that reporting them does not result in their being banned. I believe that super jumpers should also be included in the cheating classification because it creates an unfair advantage.

posted by Frankie in the weekly update

"When the single player guys file out (or as is often the case, stay put) then the multiplayer sessions begin in earnest. We were trying out a new multiplayer game type - and it is super fun, yet utterly terrifying at the same time. I have never, ever heard so much frightened screaming during a play test of anything. And plenty of laughing too"

I hope It's "falling" is what everyone is "frightened" and screaming" about, and getting hurt from that fall is what's so "terrifying" to you....... fall damage and a health system would be so sweet to have in the game again..... you know... think alil harder before you act.....not so much "cowboying" going on ya know. It made you feel more Human than Cyborg( and in Halo 2, you said he was supposed to become more Human although the game released with him being more Cyborg or robotic. He's part Human and that means he should feel hurt and be able to get hurt. Not so Undestructable.we already Know he has a conscious, thats Obvious... so shouldnt he have to be able to "bleed" as well?).... not so unstoppable...yet alittle more talented and certainly added a "second guess" before Battling it out with someone with Full Health when you have 1 red Bar of health left and the "Thump, Thump" of your Heartbeat to distract and remind you what you were about to get into( if you get so much as farted on, you're dead at that point). It also caused more usage of the Multiplayer Maps...... I felt the Maps in Halo 2 to be more confined to certain battle areas because of this. I would really love to see that the MC is acxtually still Human and can get Hurt....then needing medical attention.... it made me feel as if I were him, and not just a robot who could get blasted by 4 players and run around the corner and hide with no Consequences but a couple seconds on a shield recharge. I hope the laughing was whatching a player fall to his death or his near death. Maybe some more perriless catwalking and precise jumping, or your done, or depending on the fall, almost done. this is missed dearly from Halo: Combat Evolved when you would walk around "scared or Terrified". It added more drama in my opinion.

about the mister chief? "And finally, here's a sneak peek at what will end up being the greatest Mister Chief of all times. This is just a corner. More will be revealed in July."

I'm so hoping I'm on target with the July Rumors from IGN... like i said, I won't tell the message I sent Frank reguarding certain updates for a particular game... I'm hoping Frank can respond and let me know if I'm atleast close...probably not... but the rumors are definately there, and they are From IGN. any word on my guess Frank? ..... Please respond.

Halo 2 is getting out of hand, players are cheating way too often and ruining the game. I was a level 30 before we started to play. After playing games i dropped down to a 27 in team slayer because we played against players who cheated by standbying. I have sent feadback on everyone who has cheated but for some reason nothing ever happens. What i don't understand is why people cheat, can they not win a fair game? Instead they have to cheat to make them selves look good by having a higher rank. If cheaters have such a high level i would like to see them prove it by playing a game without cheating. Can we PLEASE STOP CHEATING and play by the rules which were placed for a reason.

Is this crap flamable?

Franky keeps Waahmbulancing all cheaters and modders, and bla bla bla... Even if I do, in fact, like to mock cheaters, I was wondering if you were actually wrong sometimes. No, wait, Bungie is never wrong, but does it happen you unban accounts because someone has good arguments concerning his account or he has actually done something that shouldn't have got him banned and was?

  • 07.05.2006 8:40 PM PDT

Bungie can you please come out with an update and get rid of these so called "super jumps" they are so cheap and annoying. I dont think i could of worded that any better.

Another question who ever was pleading to get there account back, what does "gat" mean?

If I was a betting man, I would say, I bet there wont be anymore waambulance crap in next weeks report. Bungies been asked some big questions this week, and nobodies ponyed up to answer any of them, not even Franky.

I read somewhere at some tech site on level design an artical Shishka wrote helping out some people with tech stuff. Im sure it was there he said that people ask him what people are saying and what feedback Bungie is getting back in the forums.

Well someone better give the people at Bungie this feed back, we dont want to read about the few people you have cault cheeting in the weekly report, we want real info, and want to hear how you plan to make it better. So seen as nobody there has the nuts to answer my, or anyone elses questions, why dont you just work on what were paying you to do, and thats making Halo 3, not making fun of the few cheeters you have cault. As someone else already said, your just making the problem worse.

Wasn't super jumping especially made? And how does it create an unfair advantage? It takes up time, and usually people super-jump to high places that you can only use a sniper or battle / carbine rifle to kill from up there. While you are trying to super-jump, you may get killed also. And you can always get killed from the bottom of the map, too. So I disagree with you, Crazy Wingman.

how the hell can you be banned for quitting. dude its just not possible

Quitting is "Negative Feedback" . If you get enough negative feedback, you get banned. It is very possible. I have not been banned yet...if you read the post again.....but i'm afraid that this is what is keeping my reputation down. It does work, i have a friend who got banned from negative feedback.....it was temporary, however he uses alot more abusive language than i do as well... and, he plays more than me. I actually declined our Friday Night usually around 4-6 hour Halo 2 Marathon cause I'm just completely fed up with the cheating. But enough negative feedback...no matter what negative it is, will get you banned. so as I accumulate more quitting feedback, it gets put into the negative feedback jar and will eventually add up. it is possible, very possible, I just hope it doesnt happen to me. thank you for your concern.... i do appreciate it. I'm also surprised I've lasted this long on the thread so far. But I think that's because Every one is off for the Holiday. Let's see if my posts are still here on wednesday.....if not, anyone is more than welcome to message me if you want to discuss this thread with me any further.

Happy Independance Day to all of Bungie and to everyone playing Halo 2 honestly.

I think it's real rare to get banned from just negative feedback about quitting. Swearing, yes, is more negative feedback. But I myself have quit a WHOLE lot of games, and I've been playing Halo 2 since the day it came out.

Hello Frankie, my name is Barrett Hamilton and i'm a student at ICP Technical Institute and i work as a complaint consultant for the college ( its like a minijob)
i have two Xbox Live Accounts and i check halo2 for modders and report feedback. Modders are wrong for cheating, but that doesnt mean you can mock them when they complain about being banned. If you seriously want them to learn their lesson you should be nicer when you reply to their complaints. Mean and rude replies tell players that you are not considerate in any way and theres a chance that they'll mod or cheat again just to make you guys angry. Please promote sincere and kind replies to those who posted bulletins that are kind and short to the point. This way we can all see a better working future. Thank you for your time.

You've got a point...

"I am asking you to please unban me and am also wondering if i will be able to play halo 3 matchmaking if you don't unban me. Thank you."

"Nope."

Does that mean bans will be carried over to Halo 3 matchmaking?! That'd be awsome!

Nice update, again. I love the letters from cheaters. There enough laughs to carry me over a bit of time till Halo 3.

But imagine, what if you were a modder and you didn't know this? You got bored of playing Halo 2 regularly, so you started modding. Which IS dumb, but you don't know you can't play Halo 3 matchmaking. That would be real sad for a Halo 2 fan. But then again, it's his fault. Cheating is the dumbest thing you can do. It ruins the game. Don't cheat.

Well, I don't know, I might get banned from these forums from writing so much at 12:00. But cheaters, you suck. And listen to this. I used to LOVE matchmaking. I would go through it really fast. I can beat a level 40, which is pretty good. But because of cheaters and de-levelers, I stopped. And you know what? That's how everyone STARTS modding. Others ruin the game. You don't do matchmaking anymore because of them. So you say, what the heck, I don't play matchmaking anymore, and start modding. And then you regret it.

Now people laugh at my level. I'm a level 20. If I played with no cheaters, I could've easily been above 30. So hey, why ruin the fun? When you start modding, you don't ruin it only for the players you play against / with. You ruin it for EVERYONE.

Now I'm done with posts today. I might not go on again for a while... adios, reader.

Is this crap flamable?

I you play altered halo maps in single player, do you still get banned? Of course, this is supposing you are not connected to your Xbox live account while playing those maps, but can Bungie detect the modded files in your Xbox and ban your account or IP adress forever?

I don't think that Bungie should get rid of SuperJumping. Its really fun to do. However I don't do it in many matchmaking games (I really only do the SuperJump on the defensive base on Zanzibar in matchmaking, usually unranked anyways). But, if you think of ways to take down the people who SuperJump, it'll just make you better. Also, I think I remember reading somewhere on what Bungie calls cheating and they said that SuperJumps are built into the map anyways. But, oh well. It does get pretty cheap at times.

Thats why I think SuperJumping is not cheating, because Bungie built it into the maps on purpose. Maybe they expected people to SuperJump to their advantage. And anyways, you can do it to others too. So, SuperJumping should stay. :-)
